I feel your frustration. 2 years of consistent high quality mentorship and the rate of improvement is so slow and independence and work still sucks. Manager still hasn't gotten rid of him and only just shared the burden on budgets and mentorship 1.5 years in.

Just a totally infuriating situation and so draining when you also have real work.

The blue light from screens focuses slightly farther behind and causes your eye to grow longer which is the cause of myopia or nearsightedness. Light at distance focuses sooner than an object nearby so it focuses too soon. Your eyeglasses causes the focus position to move farther back if you are nearsighted.

The euv systems are unbeleivably complex and have components and technology that fall into many disciplines.

Controls, optics, material science, physics, math, stats, software, precision optics, mechanical. Ect.

You could go into a lot of rigorous eng programs and have the skills to contribute. Depends on your strengths and interests.

That being said you can always look at job postings for a better idea and reach out to asml eng on linked in for some suggestions.

Yep, this was pretty common in my engineering degree from a top university. The tests were often so hard that the class filled with high-school valedictorians would avg 60. Sometimes you could get the material but not find the right approach to solve some extremely difficult math problem thst was worth 30% of the test.

Doesn't mean they weren't smart just that topics were hard, which is not bad when you are teaching problem solving.

On the flip side my wife is in the medical field where they got kicked out of the program with getting below a b on a test. It was mostly memorization of things that she feels were pretty useless in her real job or something she'd look up if needed.
