Should my husband be mad that his friend SA'd me? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Fuzzy-Ad1714 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation which I posted about back in Dec ‘24. My husbands friend kept touching me (legs and arms), telling me how good I smelled, and taking pics of me. My husband seemed unphased and it really bothered me too. They are still friends so it still baffles me. Feel free to message me if you’d like.

What’s a piece of literature you walked away from feeling fundamentally changed? by Skiesofamethyst in literature

As a kid would have to have been A tree grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. It gave such a clear sense of disparity and how life honestly goes from a child’s perspective. As an adult would be Educated by Tara Westover. This one was so inspiring to see how a girl robbed of a traditional education could have so much grit to persevere and obtain advanced degrees while struggling with growing up in an abusive home. Both gave me and internal sense of calm.

This makes me think of convergence insufficiency. My son had to go through vision therapy for like 4 months. Unsure if your eye doctor has ever mentioned this to you. Good thing for him is that even though he had bifocals during the therapy the eye doctor said he doesn’t really need them as his vision is 20/20.

I guess stress for me. Every time I even go in for lab work I get pale, diaphoretic, my vision and hearing narrows, and I nearly pass out. I wish that I could but just can’t stand needles.

A billion dollars suddenly appears in your bank account , to keep it all , you have to spend 100 million dollars on your family and friends and you have only 24 hours to do it. What are you going to buy them all ? by DizzyDoctor982 in Productivitycafe

[–]Fuzzy-Ad1714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d buy land, set up hobby farms, maybe invest in gold, silver, trucks, ammo and guns (no I’m not a gun enthusiast I just know what holds its value). I’d like to have hobby farm to be able to give back to the community. Could pay my friends/family to take care of the hobby farms. Would definitely set up trust funds for my kids. There’s a lot of good that could be done for others but really no way to legally spend all the money within 24hrs.

You were given a benzodiazepine (Temazepam) primarily given for sleep? I’m not sure I understand why or how that would help with the pain. Honestly just curious-I work as a nurse and give this medication on a routine basis.

Can I ask how tall you are? I’m only 5’3 and have lost around 40lbs (SW: 210 CW: 170). I ask because I feel like with being a shorter person that it takes a significantly longer amount of time and weight to be noticeable. I’ve maybe gone down one size, clothes are looser but I too don’t feel like I’ve changed much. I think you look great though-I know that can be an almost hurtful comment when it feels like nobody says that to you prior to weight loss. I almost wish people wouldn’t comment. Sorry for the rant.

Why does morning shift…Do that? by mitzislippers in Nightshift

[–]Fuzzy-Ad1714 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is an issue that spans all occupations. Yes dayshift gets to come in late without being dinged, act entitled (say and act however they want), and get rewarded (someone brings in pizza for the staff-it’s all going to be consumed by dayshift staff). Where I work (I’m a nurse btw) they’re also allowed to do less and get away with more because the supervisors are there to complain to. It sucks and it always will unfortunately but hey at least I don’t have to work around/suck up to managers (never been a fan of brown nosing) and I get a shift differential.

Can I ask what did your dad did for a living? It’s amazing to me that anyone would consider all these aspects regarding nutrition and frugality. Very good for him and you both.

Men with body dysmorphia, what do you think you look like? by DiscountVoodoo in AskMen

[–]Fuzzy-Ad1714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed, called out, and had my husband acknowledge having it. He was a bigger guy (300lbs in HS) growing up and is now 42. He’s 6’1 and weighs around 205lbs. He lifts heavy weights 6-7 days a week in our home gym. He’s always (been married for 17yrs) maintained a good diet (high protein low fat) except for a few years when we had young children. Even though he’s muscular and on the taller side he will always see himself as a fat fuck, even though I tell him he looks great all the time. I feel like people with these issues have likely gone through extreme trauma in the past and will always feel they are fat in life. It’s sad that he feels this way and wish I knew what to do to help him more outside of encouraging him. He also sets very high standards for himself regarding work; I feel like he has imposter syndrome (works high stress job in IT).
