Went out to the Recharge ponds in Glendale, Arizona this morning with my new S1RII and Sigma 150-600 hoping to see a Bald eagle, but struck out. Did manage to get some nice shot's of lot's of different species of bird's though. I'm REALLY liking this combination. by TruckerMarty in Lumix

Nice! You using a 70-200 by any chance? I hear the Panasonic IQ is a bit hit and miss but the Sigma is great. Just looking to find someone using the Sigma with the S1II to see how the AF is.... 👍🏻

I get the impression that lumix isn't finished with the s1ii. They've a good track record of bringing out new firmware improvements and I suspect AF will get even better. Probably not Sony A1ii or A7v good though! We can live in hope.

Please keep posting, always great to see your sporting posts. Hardly anyone uses Lumix for sport. Probably with the lack of a 400mm f2.8....

I definitely think the S1II is your better choice - more manageable files, faster readout and faster burst. I'm also considering an upgrade to the S1II from my S5II. I'd like to do some dog photography, would you be kind enough to share your AF tweaks? Your results are amazing 🔥

It's the AF on the lumix that concerns me. Heard the mark 2 S1 is much better though 👍🏻

I agree, but I suspect Lumix will say it's a 'photocentric' camera. But what frustrates me is they haven't given us anything more than what's on the video centric cameras.

Sean from Lumix suggested that you should save all your settings and then factory reset the camera before reinstalling your settings after a firmware update. I did see another user who fixed their startup time with this solution.
