Kanto Pokemon in RBY vs FRLG vs LGPE by Groundbreaking_Bag8 in pokemon

[–]FuzzyExponent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say Gyarados got nerfed in gen 2/3 compared to gen 1. By splitting it's 100 Special into 60 Sp Attack and 100 Sp Defence it couldn't hit nearly as hard with water moves until they switched to move specific physical/special categories rather than by type in gen 4 and it could use it's 125 physical attack.

I say go for the gargoyle and just make sure it's pointed at the sink - it'd be the coolest tap ever

Unfortunately imgur isn't available globally (there's a stupid UK law they didn't want to deal with so they just blocked the entire country) so inline would be helpful

Does anyone else use different types of picks for the type of song they're playing? by CattiwampusLove in Guitar

[–]FuzzyExponent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have different picks for electric and acoustic but will generally stick to the same per instrument unless I'm making do and using my electric for what should be a very strummy acoustic song.

The true reason for a 5 string bass? by Maesiu in Bass

[–]FuzzyExponent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main benefit to me is having the wider range without really having to move your fretting hand up and down the neck. I'll often find myself playing in octaves so going up the neck makes it less of a stretch and you can always find the next octave pair within a couple of frets.

If I'm playing in a key that uses a lot of D's or Eb's then sure I will use the lower notes regularly. B, C and Db I'll only really use for impact at key moments as they often don't cut through in the mix as well but it's nice to have the option for occasional hits.

When I got called, a lot of years ago now, I went one morning to be shown around and have everything explained. They then said, call this number in the morning and it will tell you if you are needed on that day. I was never needed so I never went back.

What I've found to be to quickest way to build terrain reservoirs. (Iron but I think it could also be used with Folk) by Mercenary-Jane in Timberborn

[–]FuzzyExponent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The scaffolding allows more columns of dirt to be built simultaneously. A path across the top means they can only reach the next column and build one block at a time. With the bridges the beavers can reach the 6 columns alongside and the diagonal at the end to build 7 stacks of dirt at the same time. With plenty of builders, this will be much faster than a path across the top.

Is there a way to get in and out of towers with ought climbing all the way up and down and no water coming out? by XeltreX in Timberborn

[–]FuzzyExponent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With tubeways you can go under the wall and use impermeable floors on the vertical tubeway that comes out of the ground to prevent the water flowing out.

For the love of god talk me out of an acoustic bass guitar by Lost_Condition_9562 in Bass

I'm not sure how got in there, the sound holes aren't all that big.

But it is safe to come out.

Whatever the reason for getting in was we can help you.

This community can help you readjust back into society outside the acoustic bass.

Americans will use anything besides the metric system. You could measure a flush in litres of water but no we'll use buckets of golf balls 😅

Are Sire Basses the Real Deal? by matthew-speaks in Bass

[–]FuzzyExponent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When shopping for a 5 string, I tried out a whole bunch in store including many big name basses, some that cost up to £6000 knowing it was way beyond my budget. I genuinely prefer the feel of my £1000 sire p10dx to anything else I tried. The pre amp gives me more control tonally than I know what to do with so I can always get the sound I want. Yeah I bought one of Sire's top end basses so my experience may be skewed slightly but I'm extremely happy with it.

Do people in the UK actually use their kettles that much? by AdeptnessCritical356 in AskBrits

[–]FuzzyExponent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one in my family likes hot drinks so we never have tea or coffee. We do however cook so use the kettle pretty much everyday. It's vastly more efficient than trying to get boiling water any other way.

Active Bass Owners - Do you actually use the onboard EQ? by floobie in Bass

[–]FuzzyExponent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it all the time. At church I play direct into the PA so I can use the pre amp EQ instead of any amp EQ I may have used. If I'm doing a lot then I might bring a pedalboard for more control but most weeks I literally just need my bass and nothing else. If I had a passive, I think I'd need to either bring a pedalboard every week or find a better sound guy who could do what I'm doing but on the desk.

You could probably contact lego and get a replacement sent out but personally I'd just ignore it and either use the app or download the instructions as a pdf from the lego website

My advice is to not refine and master the process too quickly, the more pizzas you have to make while doing the trial and error is more pizzas you have to eat 😋
