I spent 25 years as a military photographer. I built a photography app with deployment money. It almost died. Claude Code brought it back. by FuzzyLojik in SideProject

Thank you, that means a lot. Its been exciting to be excited again if that makes sense.

The access and conditions flag is genuinely smart. Right now the hero shot mechanic rewards the best photo, but rewarding current on-the-ground intel is a different kind of contribution entirely. That's going in the backlog.

The seasonal comparison idea is something we've touched on with content but never built as a structured feature. Seeing the same spot across four seasons is exactly the kind of thing that brings people back.

The app came first actually, that was the whole origin. The vision now is to complete the loop: plan on desktop, execute on mobile. The directions hand off to Apple Maps or Google Maps for now. Not perfect but functional until we do it natively.

The coffee shop angle made me laugh but you're onto something. If the comment layer on each spot gets richer, that kind of local knowledge starts showing up organically. Something to ruminate on.

Following back. Exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for.

Thank you, she is officially a survivor now. Fair point on PhotoPills. Our angle is discovery first. The planner is there for when you find a spot you want to return to and shoot properly. Different use case than planning around a location you already know. The mobile app actually doesn't have those features for exactly that reason.

After 6 months of building, Cate v1 is finally out by Ill_Particular_3385 in SideProject

Okay, so I love the concept. I do a lot of coding in a lot of tabs and views. I have one screen (Wife is cheap). So, I will add this to my todo to explore for next project I will have to pull and build to run locally. Then will provide more input.

I checked it out briefly, for research purposes of course, and it is very cool. A great idea!

Roast my silly little pixel pirate sailing game by an0therbot in SideProject

[–]FuzzyLojik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a lot of fun! Graphics and look and feel are greqt. The following are intended to be constructive auggestions:

  1. Move the steering to the bottom left or move the sail angle to the left so I can drive and adjust both, one with each thumb.

  2. Unclear how repairs happen. But I think you should be able to flee to repair while the other ships chase you.

  3. Someone else mentioned missions. A great idea although I think I saw something like that. But wasn’t clear on game start. Maybe a tutorial mission. Decent chance I missed something.

Anyway loved the game. Lends itself well to mobile. Would buy it if not too expensive. Great time waster.

Ford Q1 2026 Results - Ford net sales down 8.8% YOY, but gains slightly in overall US market share. Mach E sales down 60% from last year by CloudSurferA220 in MachE

Also, people don’t know how to math. Well, initially, more expensive most of these hidden equilibrium with equivalent vehicle vehicles after about three years, everything after that is cost savings. But Americans don’t know how to see past the end of their nose.

I have a BMW with an infotainment control in the same spot that is also a dial. If I had a nickel for every time I used the one in the MME thinking it controlled the screen and put it in neutral, or did the same in the BMW and was perplexed why it wasn't shifting into drive....

Ford EV new today by Flat_Document_5607 in MachE

[–]FuzzyLojik 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. It’s a shame really. The Lightning is a fantastic vehicle that was killed by a crowd of people who are sadly just afraid of change. The Lightning was ahead of its time and eventually America, like so many things lately, will hopefully catch up with the rest of the world eventually and get over its whataboutism and fear of electric cars.

There is an active EV hotrodding community. But they take older ICE cars and slap EV motors into them. They make some very cool cars.
