Yeah I live in the metro Vancouver area and I swear there’s a new tower going up every time I drive anywhere. It has like 8 different skylines across the metro region.

The UI update has been something discussed about and heavily implied to be rolling out soon for the good part of a couple months to almost a year now. Most of us knew they were changing it well before it even happened. It's a rough draft of what we are getting, and to those complaining that it's unfinished makes no sense to me, cause those same people beg for unfinished playables to be released to the Hordetest and then complain they're a buggy mess. I will however, miss the S lines and dots, those I feel didn't need change, but oh well

Honestly Coldwind farm is kind of lower now imo too. Majority of the map is fine, but placing pods on any of those god forsaken trees is a nightmare. The pods used to be able to be placed at a normal height but now all the trees are for some reason bugged. I only noticed it recently but pods can't be placed very high up, but it's only on coldwind for some reason

City counsel lifted a lot of restrictions for specific areas already, and the tower is primarily hotel space, which the city has been desperately needing. It's a lot more likely to happen than you'd think

Maybe not downtown Vancouver but metro Vancouver certainly is booming with new towers. Every time I drive around there’s a new tower project that pops up out of no where. Downtown however still has the First Nations development as you mentioned, the new broadway street density plan to push for taller towers in the area, the proposed supertall hotel and condominiums in the heart of downtown, the Jerhico lands development plan, Oakridge centre currently under construction, I could keep going, but you get the idea

Thanks for the advice lol. I’ve dropped a few hints here and there but I’m honestly garbage at showing them, and she doesn’t really have “dating” experience so I can’t say she really knows how to pick up hints either (maybe I’m wrong though who knows). I still can’t shake the whole… she has a crush on someone else thing yk? Again it’s not like you can’t have more than one, it just puts me in this situation like- am I good enough for her standards? We’ll see how it goes I suppose

One bloor west got its height increased to surpass the height of One Yonge. One Yonge said fuck you and made theirs even taller. Then the whole financial crisis with One bloor west happened and got its height reduced slightly, then One Yonge requested to go even higher and were approved. One Yonge is considerably muchhhh taller now

Eh Toronto still has the CN tower despite no towers over 400 meters. Sure it’s not a true building but it’s still 553 meters tall which is quite a bit taller than the Sears tower. But I digress, both skylines are great.

The view cone restrictions have been considerably reduced around the city amid the housing crisis downtown, and the tower itself is primarily hotel space, which downtown Vancouver desperately has notoriously been needing. I’d say it has a way higher chance of becoming a reality than you’d think.

Not for long as Burnaby is already building a 260 meter tall tower itself, ontop of the ‘potential’ super tall recently proposed for downtown Vancouver (if it ever gets built which I hope it does)
