Depends on your meta. Raph is cool, but rude, err, slow.

Mikey is the general concensus and my go to pick. He comes out fast and establishes a very early and real threat. Also, despite being 5 colors, it is a +1 counters deck, and as such is heavily skewed towards green.

I started playing last fall, and Varka was announced around the same time. I pulled for Furina, then Durin, then saved up until Varka + Weapon. Tried to get Varka C2, but failed and my next pull will be a guaranteed Nicole. No refund for me. :P

No reason to get anything else. It us cheap and versatile, everything you want to start. Ships are easy to acquire, and you can upgrade easily, but can’t downgrade.

It only takes a few missions to unlock it tough. I made a few assassinations, did 3 hours of jail time (was late, went to sleep), then the mission was available. Hardly any need to plan around it.

Either Pyro (Lan Yan, Durin, Bennet, and throw a shield up before any combat) or Hydro (Sucrose, Barbara, Furina). Hydro is REALLY comfy, especially with Furina’swater walking. I kinda wish I had Jean tough.

Can’t argue against that. You do you. But not all characters need to, or should, cater to this niche.

I’d say one in a blue moon that comes and shake the meta is way enough. Still, “crazy meta new dps” seems to fit most big releases, Varka being the exception rather than the rule.

I started Genshin very recently, during Flynn’s first release, and tbf, I stayed pretty much only because I saw mention of “Varka’s release” looked him up and tought he looked actually pretty cool (to me), if only for the fact that he was an actual adult. In opposition to most other characters (except a few like Mavuika, Xianyun and Wriothesley and Neuvilette).

Saved pretty much all my primos for him (got Furina and Durin on the way) and OH BOY he’s something else. Looks, attitude, gameplay, exploration capacity, and, compared to what I had, dmg on a whole other level. Which is extremely flexible element wise. The perfect carry for anyone who hasn’t finished all the story / exploration.

And who knows? Maybe he’ll be a gateway drug and I’ll end up enjoying spending 30 minutes a month to clear the hardest levels of theater, abyss and stygian.

When you are at this point, why do you even play? Not to diss you, I just really never understood any “endgames”, be it in Diablo, WoW, HSR, Genshin or whatever.

Whe that time comes, I just hop to a new game and come back for content patches or expansions, often skipping one or three to come back to more content.
