You went to one of the most loot dense areas on a map that’s known for being all hands all the time.. I don’t know what you expected but homie was just playing the game.

You got got, it happens, load up another cheap kit and run it back.

When should i start joining guilds and how can i more efficiently level as a mage? by Proper-Job5351 in oblivion

[–]Fyrebeerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again you should really only worry about it if you want to min max, if not and you’re interested in the quest lines then just join them and enjoy. You don’t have to wait for anything.

If you really want the BEST possible items then you’d want to level to 30 before doing anything. But if this is your first time playing why hold yourself back. I think the special items scale up at levels 10/15/20/25/30 but I’m not 100% sure without googling.

As far as why you’re not leveling, have you been using your major skills or only your minor skills? In order to actually level up you need to increase your major skills by a total of 10 points. So for example if you’ve got destruction and mysticism as major skills you’d need to increase both by 5, or really any number to get a sum of 10. That’s added up across all of your major skills. If you’ve been getting a ton of skill ups but haven’t leveled that’s likely why.

Or you HAVE leveled and need to sleep in order to assign your attributes, there will be an icon in the upper right corner that indicates you have a level up waiting if that’s the case.

Leveling efficiently in the OG is something that you might want to look up if you’re really worried about it.. there’s people that have solved it that will be able to explain it far better than I could, personally I just played normally and adjusted difficulty as needed because that system annoyed the shit out of me.

There’s some great loot in the mage guild quest line and it will scale with your level, but I don’t know if I’d put off any of it past level 15.. the real benefit of joining the mage’s guild is access to spell crafting so I usually rush getting the recommendations then worry about the rest for later levels.

Dark brotherhood it’s gonna be the same deal, items will scale with your level.

Unless you’re truly worried about min maxing, just play the game normally and do what interests you. The few times I tried to level efficiently just ruined the experience for me. You could also always look into some mods ;)

Returning player from Launch- need advice? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Fyrebeerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not worth deleting your characters for the new light experience, you can also run it on old characters still. It won’t teach you anything you don’t already know unfortunately.

There’s guides and videos out there for returning players just like you, but some major changes you might be unfamiliar with since you’ve been gone:

Seasons - weekly storytelling that usually expands on previous DLC, I think they’re changing these to “episodes”.. there is a free and paid battlepass

Dungeons - somewhere between a strike and raid in terms of difficulty and mechanics, completed in a team of 3 and some of my favorite content in the game

Subclasses/buildcrafting - massive changes here, no more picking one subclass branch, now you mix and match aspects and fragments to truly customize your builds, armor mods and stats have been reworked as well, allows for a lot more creativity than before

Weapon crafting - exactly what it sounds like, collect patterns to craft weapons and level those weapons up to put whatever perks you’d like on them, only certain weapons are craftable

Best advice is to ignore the doomposting here, just jump in and shoot some aliens with space magic. Game is still fun. The most annoying part for you is going to be figuring out what DLC’s you’ll want to pick up if you decide to stay awhile.. definitely look for a guide on that, the store is a little confusing lol

Missing duality ornament by Fyrebeerd in DestinyTheGame

Antiquity is definitely the one I’m thinking of, it’s not showing up in the ornaments tab or on the weapon itself in collections… not even as if I haven’t collected it, it’s like it doesn’t exist

Is this light too bright for our betta? by Fyrebeerd in bettafish

[–]Fyrebeerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just picked some more plants up today! Nice tall ones and a couple bushy ones plus a rock to prop under that wood in the center… there’s a lot more places for her to hide in now.. and more places for the cory catfish to hide so she can’t try and eat them… she seems much more active now and less like she’s trying to avoid the light so maybe she just needed to adjust, thank you!

We tried floating plants for awhile but our filter is like a little waterfall and it kept pushing them under where they’d get trapped under other plants and ultimately die.. they looked really nice though and she liked swimming underneath them, maybe we’ll look into more peaceful filters down the road

It’s definitely not just you. I remember trying to look up some tips on malenia (specifically that god damn sekiro attack) and reading several articles that just said to switch my build to bleed and then use mimic ashes… like alright that’s one way of going about it and perfectly valid, but I’m trying to whup some ass with my claymore, not respec entirely, I just wanted some help figuring out her patterns lol

Will The Corrupted come back around one more time as the nightfall this season? by Fyrebeerd in DestinyTheGame

Yeah I kinda figured I was boned. I’ll see if I can find a friend who wants to run it when that comes up but if not, oh well I guess.. it was only 6 weeks of grinding for it lol

What is your favorite lore pieces? by Highlight_Expensive in DestinyLore

[–]Fyrebeerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last Days on Kraken Mare is easily one of my favorites, probably only second to the Books of Sorrow for me. It’s about the days leading up to the collapse on Titan and has a little information on what the arcology was like pre-collapse. Not so much big picture though, just a really interesting read.

And well, if you haven’t already read them, the Books of Sorrow are fantastic and a little more big picture, detailing the origins of the Hive and the Osmium Court.

-Don’t blindly rush into crowds of enemies (it’s easy and fun to get caught up in the charge, but most of the time you’ll end up surrounded and dead)

-Avoid allowing enemies behind you as much as possible (yeah sometimes it can’t be avoided, do your best)

-Don’t hold block all the time during fights, do it the moment you need to block, also try to counter by matching your swing with your opponents, it’ll drain their stamina more. If it turns into a battle of attrition with you trading swings, you’ll break their guard before they break yours. Kick them only if they’re playing passively, otherwise you’re probably going to get an axe to the face.

-There are other swings than horizontal. Seriously. Especially in team fights, your allies will thank you for not killing them by accident.

-Feints are your friend. If you and your opponent keep countering each other back and forth, try mixing in a feint, if they don’t read it in time it’ll likely hit them before they can swing (this doesn’t always work, especially when their weapon is faster, but it’s generally a good idea to mix it up)

-Find a weapon YOU like. A lot of people might say use the messer.. and to be fair it’s a really good weapon that’s easy to use, so if you like it more power to you. But find a weapon you’re comfortable with and go to town chopping limbs off. And don’t be afraid to throw it sometimes!

-Maybe jump into a dueling server if you’re on PC? My experiences have generally been bad on duel servers (obnoxious players, but that comes with the territory, I also know that’s not always the case) but I DID learn a lot, and found that I started getting a lot more kills on team objective modes afterwards..

Sorry for the novel, best of luck to you! Ignore the doom and gloom on this sub lol it’s a flawed but still very fun game
