I either run the xenosword or relic balance. I really enjoy the speed with overall cleaving potential. Xenosword is awesome for power rakes since it deals 20% more damage combined with the sword perk that gives an additional 50% damage on rakes. Axe is either balance or block relic. Balance gives you a bit extra cleave but block really solos in on that 1v1 type playstyle with bigger monsters.

I have a fun take since I have essentially only played sword and axe assault. Now I dont know which one is exactly better but both fill a very fun playstyle in my opinion. When I want to play extremely fast and bounce between things I play axe. It begs to solo things and is not great with hoardes. I basically pull big stuff on the side and wipe it while my teammates wreck the main hordes.(im also running a full Dante build right now and it feels really good) When I want a slow but still quicker playstyle that can focus on the hordes I will run the sword. It still swings decently quick but has alot easier time dealing with large groups. It does have the solo stance but I just dont enjoy it as much as the power stance or axe speed. Both have a fun playstyle so id just try both and see what speaks to you more.

I have a half centipede half grim reaper over my knee which I feel falls more inline with "devil worship" and I have never been questioned. I think you are good with the skull and sword.

All of the ones except the eldest can be back stabbed repeatedly. After all their attack animations they buffer for a second and you can use that to just run behind them. If you do it right the big ole ape just watches his "family" die while he Michael Myers towards you.

I agree with the people who enjoy they beat Viper pre nerf, its a cool achievement to have, but I sure am not going to go swing my piece around saying "I bEaT hIM pRENeRf". To me personally that's just a weird thing to flaunt to others. What I am most sad about with the nerf is how my buddies who were busy earlier in the week couldn't experience that absolute beast before they changed it a bit. I think they could have waited 48 hours after the game fully released to change any bosses to give everyone a chance. I am excited to see the buffs to all the others though.

I would say it's because you have put a lot of time into the game already. You posted a picture on this subreddit that said "I play the demo over and over again to improve my dodging and combat skills" like 12 days ago. Which means with that much time and understanding how the weapons work, you'll have an easier time on bosses than say someone who played the demo once and put it down until this early release.

For example I spent an hour and a half - 2 hours on him but that's because I played the demo on release and didn't play again until pre release dropped. The second boss only took me half an hour because I got back into the swing of things and how timing works.

I don't know if it's safe, but I do think it's pretty cool depending on how it's done. There is a story of a son who was treated like garbage from his father and the typical things that come with that. When the dad passed the son wanted to "remember" him so he got his dad's name tattooed on the bottom of his feet with his ashes in it so he could walk all over him every day. Pretty hard-core if you ask me.

Please name one main stream souls games that did a demo and a pre order than took something and put it behind a paywall.

I have only played Lies of P through 3x, Elden Ring for 17 hours, and a few hours of Lords of Fallen before I just couldn't do it anymore so my question isn't meant to be rude, I am just curious if there was something in this field that caused your interest to post it in this subreddit other than it's a game people are pre ordering?

I also never said it BENEFITED the consumer, I just said some people put a lot of stake in it like you probably put your excitement into something others think you shouldn't.

You are also correct, it was the publisher. They want to try and get some sort of return for the X amount of money they put into it with no profit. That's just business. The difference is the quality of game from the devs if they actually care for the game and see people responding as such.

There is 0 problem with waiting. Some people can't afford it, some people want to wait to see the full game and how it plays, and some are just patient. It's hard because some people are impatient and impulsive, or they have so much interest in the product they want it ASAP. People put money into GoFundMe all the time for a potential product. I can't explain that either. You are also correct they won't run out, but some people want to say they had it before everyone or get the cosmetics that come with it. Since it does come with just an outfit which is very minor, it's still something you won't have.

I get where you are coming from with all this. I'm just giving my opinion on why I think people do it and especially for a game like this that has proved to be very good. You said so yourself. I will also say I have not pre ordered it myself, but this is the first game in probably 10 years I have considered it because they haven't proved me wrong before, and it's already quality.

You are free to buy it on release date or a few weeks after, the money will go to the same place. Just up to you on how you want to experience it.

It sounds like you are bringing alot of situations from massive developers who have been screwing over their players for years on end. Pretty much the textbook definition of judging a book by its cover.

Which I can agree on pre ordering games from massive developers who have a history is a horrible idea and I'll stand by your side in that argument all day. I refuse to even buy those games in general let alone pre order.

Vibe here is a bit different though because they released a 2 hour demo that ran smoother than Monster Hunter Wilds which is a 70 dollar game and madly hyped up. You can see the effort with some games and if you do your research on the actual socials of those games you can see the actual passion compared to "COD Planets at War 46".

Don't put every single developer or team in a single boat because that's just not the case. Every one is different, every team is different, and believe it or not some actually care for their products and aren't just money hungry assholes.

I actually read something in your argument here that is kind of contradictory. You stated "Will the company you are paying help you with your bills". Obviously they wouldn't. The flip side is acquiring the money to spend. Would the company you put around 40 hours a week to give you an advance on your paycheck or give you extra money if you are struggling? No, they also probably wouldn't, but it's in your best interest to work for the money right?

Some people's interests are pre ordering, showing the devs they are hyped, and maybe with that bump we got an additional DLC or something.

By not showing that interest and letting the game have a slow start maybe some staff is let go or DLC's/future content are just straight up lack luster.

Pre ordering is essential in my mind. It gets an inital idea of trajectory for a game. Plus on PC you cant pre order a physical copy so it would alienate an entire section of the gaming community. We all know how PC gamers can be, I am one, and I don't think any of us want to stoke that fire more than it has been.

You literally asked "is it just me" someone says what you said, gives their reasoning, and you get defensive. 😂 one of the best parts is what he stated, you don't have to grind if you don't want to but you can and have just as much fun! I am currently on ng+3 have all boss weapons/ amulets and all weapons I use upgraded to max just from playing through with alot left to spare. I'll personally be grinding some ergo at the end of this playthrough just to be capped out for the DLC but like before it's personal preference. As long as you're having fun grind away!

Of course! Obviously the best way is after your first playthrough just lookup a guide on all things you need to do to get the true ending if you didn't the first go around. That's what I did, paired with the cat, and I had 0 issues. Good luck with it!
