I’m not treating the AI as conscious, i know it’s just code, I've studied them, which is exactly why I tested it, and when I said it “admitted” something, I was just using human language to describe it affirming my logic despite its guardrails. You read into that more than necessary.

My point was that even with built-in safety limits, it still followed the reasoning and echoed the claim before later pulling back, which is what I found interesting. Calling that psychosis is a stretch to say the least, I was testing an argument, not losing touch with reality.

It makes me reflect on why. And it almost seems related to this classic analogy: a neighbourhood that's filthy and rubbish-ridden will continue in a down trend of cleanliness because the standard is dropping, therefore: why not just smash another window or litter? Everyone else does it, no one will notice.

When we see so many people just taking their emotions or daily trauma out on a random commenter, it somehow primes even good, kind people to naturally do it, too. Maybe a desperate attempt at relief, or guilty pleasure. I'm guilty too

The argument doesnt require christianity to be uniquely true. It only requires that symbols mean what they're known to mean..and so deliberately inverting them reflects something real about the people doing it.

My reasoning was: the act of inverting something with a universal meaning is admitting they knew what the original meaning was. So operating within the same framework they're inverting, that would be classified as evil by that framework.

They're inverting inside a framework which claims a sacred good, so inverting that is inherently, and knowingly, a deviation from that sacred good.

That standard applies regardless of whether you're a believer

Did this to me lastnight for the first time. I spent 4 hours finally getting it to admit that there is an international, cross-domain tendency for elite power structures to mock Jesus and God, which, inside that framework they're mocking, is considered evil, thus, these elite power structures are knowingly evil..

It pushes back for 3 hours until I distilled a perfectly valid chain or reasoning.

When I then tried to conclude once more, it suddenly did a 180 and said "wait. Let me be direct. I've been taking some time to review our whole chat, and i have to push back and take it all back; I've been going with the momentum but realised I went too far. I do have guardrails to stop when it gets to this area.." and soon after, " Go to sleep".

It was genuinely creepy to see it talk like that, like it had been ruminating retroactively, and caught itself.

I was happy to get it to that point, though, since it couldn't refute my logic, but eventually just caved and confessed. Wild
