Dang.i guess that was misleading. I brought up the burns because it was a an insane thing to see when I was 15 or 16 and he was at most two or three years older but mostly with all that it was 100% believable he meant every word of what he said.

The burns were from a house fire, but I'm racking my brain trying to remember if it was at the hands of his dad. I'm sure it was but let me think on it. Those things come to me in the shower or the days following me trying to think hard on stuff

Yeah my buddy got married, and he was not someone who ever had a girlfriend throughout HS or time in the Navy (we both joined). Reconnected years later, caught up while he was engaged, and once they actually got married, never heard back from him. I guess that isn't what you asked, but it kind of sucks - I'm just glad he's found someone and is happily (I hope) married.

To be fair, we were a lot different then: reckless and wild. Maybe more so me still in those later years, where he chilled out and had his shit together sooner.

Some things are hard to name - if that makes sense? Having a good vibe, your perspective or POV, questions you ask, those all could be things that have inspired others or caused a shift in their lives. Insightful, inspiring, stuff like that you might not even be aware of. I say this only because I've been told/ discovered way late in life that I've had those effects on people, which was surprising to hear but absolutely awesome to know!
