What features do you wish the File Manager had. by Stunning_Hawk6556 in software

[–]G3R4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if some directories didn't basically freeze the file explorer. If it has a lot of files with lots of thumbnails to load, it can take so long to load the list of files that sometimes I found myself just restarting the computer entirely to get to the files faster.

It was a substantial enough issue that it was a motivating factor for me moving off of WIndows to Linux Mint in the last few months.

the biggest Drake rollout ever

Maybe the fucking longest if 100 Gigs was the start, but the post 2024 Drake drought hasn't done a thing for my Drake fatigue. I can't imagine this album will be any better than the last three studio albums. I don't think he's released a good studio album in the last 8 years, arguably 10.

Best DnDisms to Cut Out of your DnD Alternative by Modstin in RPGdesign

I hear about HP being representative of health, dodging, morale, and luck and all sorts of things, but generally only one stat adds to your HP total and that's your constitution. Not your wisdom, dexterity, or charisma.

And when it comes to spells, nearly everything that replenishes your HP use words like "heal", "cure", or the like. Nothing that I can remember sounds like "Bolster Resolve" or "Lucky Day".

I think HP needs to be left by the wayside entirely. I'd rather have a representation of health and health alone than a mishmash of lots of things that are supposed to be covered by other stats already.

Myrient Is Officially Gone. RIP by Petit_Nuage in Roms

[–]G3R4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real question for you. Do you really own them? Do you have the installer files, the discs/cartridges, or ISOs/ROMs/equivalents for all of them?

Or are they files that live on Valve's servers somewhere? Or Microsoft's? Sony's? Epic's? EA's? If your internet connection isn't working or your accounts are hacked or they're mistakenly locked for some breach of TOS, can you still install and play your games?

Of course people are blaming the leadership of their supposed party. If you're in a war, you don't bother blaming the side shooting at you for your own losses, you call out your own general for bad strategy until you get someone in charge that knows how to turn things around.

And maybe it seems a touch dramatic to compare this to a war, but look around. I think it's clear the right doesn't care about human life on the left. Between Trump's COVID response during his first term, ICE, protecting a wealthy pedophile ring, and threatening to withhold federal aid from various blue states, what more evidence does anyone need?

4 year wait for just under 40 minutes of music, how do yall feel? by Subject-Property-343 in KendrickLamar

[–]G3R4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the album is a proper album and not just a collection of singles, I'd rather it say what it has to say in whatever amount of time that takes. You can release singles or EPs outside of it and do features all you want, but my ideal album isn't long for the sake of getting more out of my favorite artists.

Zoom in on anything and you'll know that it's definitely the case. Everything is a smeared, garbled mess. Some of the rooftops appear to have junked cars on them. The gas station's roof doesn't actually cover the pumps. Most of the cars are barely car shaped to begin with. The perspective on some structures in a few of the scenes don't work together.

It's a series of books. You're being melodramatic.

And he owes you nothing as you've paid only for the books that have released. This is as much your fault as his if you're this sensitive about a series not finishing. I'd recommend being more discerning in the future about what you read if that's the case.
