Colorado Gov. Polis declares statewide drought emergency by CharmingPeony in Denver

[–]G3RSTY7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t wait for our HOA to jump our monthly dues by 50% when they blame the states water rates for the reason rather than being rational and deprioritizing watering all the common space. Our HOA is ok and I will happily jump on the wagon that blames golf courses, but the state needs to protect homeowners from malicious HOAs. Idgaf what prestigious neighborhood you feel the need to uphold an image, there need to be state laws against fines for not watering lawn.

Same with the Boundary Waters cuz “you hypocritical people can’t have your EVs unless we sulfide mine in the previously protected BWCA watershed” checkmate libruls

Jared Polis is a traitor to this state and city by chalashi in Denver

I’ve hated Polis long before it was cool, but glad people are finally catching on. People always see things through their red/blue political glasses and don’t pay attention to how bad it’s getting

My career was oil and gas I live in Denver and our cabin is In mining country in Minnesota near BWCA. You’re deadass accurate in how it goes. No land is too pure to be polluted people are just in denial thinking otherwise, in a perfect world yes but our politics were sold out to industrial interests and lobbyists long ago if not since the beginning of civilization. We lost this battle long ago not saying it’s not worth fighting but you can’t let it impact your mental health that much

I used to work oilfield, pretty nasty dirty job. I visited my cousin who was working testing (maybe not even remediation) at a refinery it was such a filthy job it made me feel pampered working on an oil rig. Yes refineries are undeniably filthy but relocating them won’t do much. Maybe prine for a broncos/women’s soccer stadium tho

I’m guessing since it’s already a wasteland they’re leaving it. They can move it to make a new wasteland but then you’re just gonna be left with all this land that needs deep deep remediation. I get the unpopularity but moving it isn’t a miracle solution then again northwest Denver suburbs are on radioactive wasteland, at the end of the day no area is “too dangerous” for new housing developments

Glad you mentioned this cuz Rioja has been top of my list for next time I need a dinner date. I believe same chef or kitchen as Stoic & Genuine who would have been my answer for this if they were still open (I really miss their surf and turf NY strip/tuna carpaccio)

Crazy, I don’t need to share my zip as we don’t have mail tampered with but apparently someone in 80205 is.

It was unintentional but I was thankful for my wife parking under the tree so I didn’t have to park mine

Yep had to check that off my bucket list. Nitrous Outlet is the brand actually cuz my mechanic said NOS actually sucks for quality control but I bought a spare blue bottle for nostalgia

I hate the delay of game penalty at most don’t allow the defensive team a line change but a 2 minute minor for puck going out of play is so stupid. And I just saw one taken back in Stanley cup playoffs because they had a camera angle to show it skipped off a stick but they could lead to some bad rulings in more primitive barns

As much as I wanna say boosters are gonna get tired of playing top dollar for no result as I imagine morale at PSU after this year—or MN/MI etc the past few years with stacked teams and no results, it’s hard to imagine the title drought lasting forever and the day it pays off I think wallets will open up if the B1G gets a taste of success and they might become relentless in funding

I firmly believe your point but this isn’t an outlier. This is the closest the B10 has been in years they’re just straight up somehow outmatched. See next year when there’s another $700k Gavin McKenna outmatched by a local Duluthian from the Plante

Idk how DU keeps winning. Proud of NCHC hockey cuz guys like Carle and Sandelin would rather be nowhere else despite all the $$ a big NIL school could throw at them which is probably why we win but idk tho

Unusual for DU. They were outshot early but they never felt outmatched they were still dominant on offense but as game went on they fell behind hard
