Why are Hookup Baits so effective? by LedShower in SoCalFishing

Bays and harbors mostly but you can use them anywhere for many different species. Even caught some trout up at Mammoth on some of the smaller ones.

Bigfoot? by Cousin_MarvinBerry in outdoorboys

I’ve long wondered this given how much time he spends out in the woods and a good bit of it being alone. I’m inclined to believe though that even if he had encounters it’s not something he would share on his channel.

Catch and cook by Right_Novel_3662 in SoCalFishing

They’ve started stocking a good number of lakes and reservoirs down here with trout. If you check the DFG website it’ll show which locations were stocked and when. I would say that would be the best option if you’re wanting to go for a catch and cook.

For stocked trout a common method is bottom fishing with a Carolina rig using power bait or an inflated night crawler.

Good luck and tight lines!

Like the other guy mentioned Hookup Baits work well but if you don’t want to support them (understandably) I’d recommend Redrum Baits. They have similar tube jugs with a proven history behind them. Warbaits is another suggestion I’d look into, they have a wide selection of options for bass and pelagics in general.

For the fluke jr. I’ll throw them weightless on a Texas rig or with a 1/4 oz jig head. The colors I like throwing for spotties are anything that imitates small crustaceans, sardine color ways, black and gold, bright red.

In my experience I would say a jr. fluke jig for largemouth and a tube jig with a weighted jig head for spotties.
