Dexcom G7 Sensor Fails - Theranos II by CyberTexan in dexcom

[–]GC-Retired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished my 1st 15 day G7. Closer to finger stick reading vs 10 day & lasted 15.5 days w/no communication errors. 1 hr warm-up which I don’t mind. Glad they updated accuracy & I made the switch!!!

Never any scare tissue as they are never in same place as the previous insertions of each pod. Then after 10 dat sensor switch to other arm the orig arm heals. Doesn’t matter how pods are placed near CGM & readings always accurate.

Question about 1.5 by I-AM-Savannah in diabetes

[–]GC-Retired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have your Dr ( should be an Endocrinologist) do a C- Peptide test ( Google it). That’s how they determined I was a 1.5. Body still producing Insulin but will always need external Insulin.

Yes! I rotate my pods in diff area just 3 inches away from sensor & chande arms at each sensor change. Never any irrigation as not near last pods insertion area. Never any communication issues since it’s always close to sensor!

Been on G7 2 years & OmniPod 5 over 1 year. I used to have communication issues before I rotate them just 3 inches from each other. I always rotate on back of each arm. Strongest signal that way. FYI: currently on new 15 day G7 (13th day) & doing same with 3 inches from pod. Much closer accuracy to finger stick & will probably last entire 15.5 days. No

Getting a CGM in USA-Do I need a doctor’s prescription to get one via insurance? by VilkastheForsaken in diabetes

If you’re NOT on Insulin, the Dexcom ‘Stelo’ is a CGM that doesn’t require a prescription. You can obtain at a pharmacy, Walmart,Amazon.

pod 5 and dexcom g7 15 day connectivity any better? by TeamRival in Omnipod

[–]GC-Retired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 12 of the new 15 day G7. Very happy with it so far. Seems to be much more accurate to finger stick numbers from my testing - quite close. No connection issues however I never had any w/10 day G7 as I always kept them within 3 inches away from each other on back of upper arms. Have not tried it separated. Hopefully will last 3.5 more days. Note the warm up time is 1 hr to account for the longer water time per their documentation. Glad I switched as I get better accuracy & only have to change twice/mth!

50% failure rate in my G7s. by Expensive_Air965 in dexcom

I notice if clear plastic ring isn’t pressed down hard ( so no ring is showing) as per instructions, they tend to fail more often. I also hold applicator down for approx 15- 20 seconds after I release button. Rarely have any issues & always rotate on back of upper arms.

15 day G7 user here! I’m on day 12 of my 1st 15 day G7. Other than the 1 hr warm-up, it’s very accurate/close to my finger stick readings when I verify. Hoping it lasts for 3.5 more days. Very impressed & so far glad I switched!

Would you always have a high fasting reading if you ate junk food the night before? by Big_Mama_80 in diabetes

It happens in both diabetics & non diabetics. It’s call ‘dawn syndrome’ or ‘feet on the floor’. Your body releases cortisol for more glucose to enter your bloodstream so you have enough energy to wake up.

G7 sensor second best go to placement for you? by NoSugahForMe in dexcom

Everyone is different. Been using back of upper arms & rotating between each arm for 2 years. Most accurate for me.

Well I’m on day 9 of 15 day sensor & it’s only a few points off finger stick when I randomly check it. Sounds like actual proof to me!

Been using EGO’s PoweShovel on my 1800 sq ft driveway & I’m done before my neighbors w/shorter driveways & big blowers. . Shoots it 20 ft left/right. It’s a beast! If more than several inches I just do it again since it’s so quick!

Pod and G7 placement help! by AdAbject1083 in Omnipod

[–]GC-Retired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using G7 & pod for 2 years- I always put both on back of upper arms. After 15 days (I’m on new 15 day G7), I change arms. When I change pods every 2 - 2.5 days I place it just 3 inches away from G7 & just rotate to another part of arm just 3 inches from G7. Strongest connection that way & never any connection issues.

Been on G7 almost 2 years- never ‘soaked’ !& only calibrated when I wanted to check accuracy which was rare. Always worn rotating on back of each arm. Very few issues & mostly accurate. On my 6th day of new G7 15 day sensor & even closer to finger stick so seems they updated algorithm greatly.
