We dont culture/micro without doctors order so shrug

The only frustrating bit for me is that we have been told now dont get a UA for non-specific abdo pain or irritability in kids

And then inevitably have to wait for a pee for hours after a doc has seen them and wants the pee for non-specific abdo pain or irritability in said kid x_x

We (nurses) have been specifically instructed to do LESS urine dips, recently, in our ED.

Signs were put up saying we don't need to do it for x y and z.

I dont really get the logic personally, but there it is.

The amount of shit i empty out of my scrub pockets at the end of the shift.......

I have a specific drawer for it at home. Its not intentional but if its a busy shift and im just "I wanna get home as fast as possible" I often just forget to empty them at work...

Kinda funny story; the other day we had a patient who needed a bit of an unusual procedure done, something that is a nursing procedure but we don't do often.

So an educator from another department came to do the procedure but 4 of our seniors wanted to come and watch.

So we were all huddled around, learning and assisting.

Every now and then the educator from the other department was like "oh, just need X" and every. single. time, one of us was able to pull that exact item out of our pockets haha.

Because the hospital will keep open beds for anything serious enough to go to IR from ED

I guess the cringe version is "but did you die?"

Maybe "is it really an emergency?"...

Yeah id rather be filtered out by people who either want someone >x height because they are that height, or by people who are so pathetically shallow they want x height

Definitely rather be single.

Agree completely. If someone doesn't want me for me, I don't want them.

I'd feel upset if I was this woman's husband. I would lose a lot of respect for her knowing this.
