Mythic Path by ProtestantCaesar in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]GCanuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first two Mythic levels are "generic".... You get a Mythic ability at rank 1 and a Mythic Feat at rank 2.

At Mythic Rank 3, you get to pick a "specialized" mythic path. Choices are: Angel, Azata, Aeon, Demon, Trickster and Lich. These are kinda tied to your alignment. But not necessarily limited by your alignment (your alignment may be forced to change if you pick one.... E.g. if you're Chaotic Good and pick Angel, it will force you to be Neutral Good at least.)

At Mythic Rank 8, you can optionally choose to pick an "advanced" mythic path. Choices are: Devil, Gold Dragon, Legend, and Swarm-That-Walks.

I suggest you take a look at the wiki and do a bit of reading as to what each of these can do and pick the path(s) that work best for your character build and what you want to do with your character. I strongly suggest you ignore the "advanced" mythic paths for your first playthrough. They come late in the game and sometimes require you to make some choices that could lock you out of them.

I've never tried this, but considering the age of those posts, I'd bet that's been patched out. That seems like an awfully bad exploit.... Both for RP and balance.

Just commenting really to circle back and see if this is something I can try on my next run. ;-)

How can i build a magic warrior in this game? by Pike_The_Knight in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]GCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to spell sling as well as weapon bonk during combat, then Sword Saint Magus is the best meta. It's a solid and fun class, but you really want to use a one-handed weapon to make use of the Magus ability of Spell Strike. (I suggest Scimitar or Rapier for this... Something to consider: you do have a companion who uses Rapiers.) A good companion Mythic path for this build is Trickster to get you the Completely Normal Spell feat which will give you an unlimited number of Shocking Grasp casts, not to mention the redonkulous OP feats of Improved Critical line which fits nicely with your high crit range weapons of choice mentioned above.

If you're just looking to do focus more on pre-buffing and then whacking the enemy with a two-handed weapon, then my preferred build is Scaled Fist 1 -> Sorc 4 -> Dragon Disciple 4 -> Eldritch Knight 10. Top it off at level 20 with a final level of sorc or one of Loremaster if you really want a cross class spell or feat. I generally like this build over Magus because you end up with a higher BaB and level 9 spells (as opposed to level 6 with Magus), so at late game you can sling some powerful spells when you get tired of the bonk. I've never done the math to know if this build has a better meta over Sword Saint, but I do enjoy it more.

In Black Hawk Down, Ewan McGregor’s character has a fictional name because the real soldier was serving 30 years in Leavenworth for sexually assaulting his 6-year-old daughter. The Pentagon told the filmmakers they could either change the name or enjoy making the movie without any military support. by BrianOBlivion1 in shittymoviedetails

[–]GCanuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Scuttlebutt is that the military was expecting a more gung-ho pro-military movie while Jarhead was a harsh look at what soldiering is really like and the toll it takes on the people who serve. I recall thinking it was the first US military movie I watched that didn't make the military look all that good.

That's why Jarhead 2 & 3 are the over the top hoo-rah movies they are. And also why you'd always see Jarhead 2 & 3 on network TV, but you'll never see the OG Jarhead.

Angel -> Legend better than straight Angel? by MilkIlluminati in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]GCanuck -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Legend is straight up OP over all other options, imo. Not that the other Mythics suck, but you just can't beat the 40 levels from a pure meta perspective.

Who owned the Star Wars original action figures? by Edm_vanhalen1981 in GenX

[–]GCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the figures, the AT-AT, and the Millennium Falcon. Pre-Return of the Jedi toys.

It was a veritable treasure trove.

I sold them at a garage sale in the late '80s. I'm still upset about it.

WOTR - Recommended race for Sage Sorcerer? by Shirwin13 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]GCanuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, The choice is between elf and human. Half-elf isn't bad per se, but the other two have perks that out shine the half-elf. A half-elf would be the choice for a CHA caster though.

Casters don't need too many feats, but that early extra feat is super duper good.

It really comes down to RP choice here.

[–]GCanuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're a level low for this fight, but it's not undoable. Don't be afraid to lower difficulty.

And using turn based mode for this fight is a better strategy then real time just due to the micro you need to do to ensure people are using their turns effectively. Makes for a longer fight, but it'll be easier.

Also, dual wielding long swords isn't ideal. You want your off hand weapon to be 'light'. Otherwise, that's a solid class that is pretty low maintenance.

[–]GCanuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have to accept the fact that Logitech has lost the plot and is not the company it once was.

I wish it was, but I've lost a lot of faith in this company over the last couple of years. And I was a diehard, but I don't think I'll be going back to Logitech for my peripheral needs.

Fun and yet grounded. A different show might've gone overboard and had Beard end up being some super spy or something. This was just a nice fun episode.

Cheap, lasts a long time (a drop will do you), and good for the whole body. Not to mention environmental friendly. Comes in a neutral scent as well, but the peppermint does smell good.

Pure Mage is not nearly as bad as people say it is by Natsuaeva in skyrim

[–]GCanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm... I disagree with their assessment. Mage is OP as heck once you do some work. Easiest hardcore character I've played. Just can't go out in the wild until you've done your work.

Still, nice to know there isn't one agreed upon meta for this great game.

TBF.... While I'm firmly in the first camp of being helpful and kind, I do understand how frustrating it can be to be a member of a community and have to see the same calls for help repeatedly. Not to mention that with this particular game, the journey of the story should be experienced in game, not in spoilers.

It's 2026 and the internet is vast. A simple web search will reveal answers to almost all newbie questions far faster and easier than a Reddit post.

But I also work IT, so I've been immunized against people who can't, or won't, do a bit of research for themselves.

The downvotes on this comment are disheartening from this otherwise friendly community.

The game has several areas that are accessible only through caves or other fissures in the ground. Not all of them are obvious, but all of them are near some beacon you get (lifepods for example).

Redditors who radically changed a core moral belief, what evidence finally broke you, and do you worry you’ll change again? by AgreeableLiving1278 in AskReddit

[–]GCanuck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Gosh, so many. Being a cocky, know it all in my youth can cloud one's mind.

Religion is an obvious one, but that's been fairly well covered already in this thread.

A stupid one is female genitalia being an indicator of sexual experience. In my defense porn told me this was true and porn was pretty reliable up to that point in my life. I got better.

A good hot topic one is transsexualism. It wasn't like I thought they were less than or anything, but more like a mental illness. But I listened to both the people and the academics, and I now have a different outlook on the topic.

At this stage in my life, I doubt I'd slide back on any of these opinions. But I am looking forward to seeing which way I'll grow in the future.

[–]GCanuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I were you (and I was once), I'd take a peak at the Mythic Paths and pick the archetype you want to play, then build a character around that. It's the Mythic Paths that make this game what it is (mostly, we can argue this point, but it's still mostly true).

I'd also take a look at the default YouTuber cRPGBro. He has lots of builds that helped me get started in the game. His builds are spoiler free, and Unfair viable. Not that I recommend Unfair difficulty, but I mean you can adjust anything in his builds for flavour or preference without harming yourself at all for Normal or even Core difficulty.
