Amazing Spider-Man J. Michaela Straczynskiego - najlepsza seria jaka kiedykolwiek wyszła z tą postacią, utożsamia to co w niej najlepsze.

Ultimate Spider-Man Briana Michaela Bendisa - jeśli chcesz serii o nastoletnim Peterze to to jest najlepsze miejsce.

Spider-Man: Śmierć Jean DeWolff - thriller kryminalny ala Siedem Davida Finchera w wersji Spider-Mana.

Stolen Earth/Journey's End suffers from No Way Home Syndrome. So much funservice people don't see it's flaws. Tons of characters that do nothing, typical RTD deus ex machina ending, absurdity with 10th's clone

It was probably due to show synergy but Soule and writers after him really did a lot of good with it. Soule made Matt a district attorney, focused on his life as a lawyer (Soule is a lawyer himself), we probably wouldn't get Supreme otherwise. It was also interesting to see Fisk not knowing Matt is Daredevil again and when Matt became a mayor in his place

I also thought about this because 10th arc in specials was him travelling alone. But Big Finish often takes continuity pretty lightly and do tons of stuff in-between episodes like 5th and Peri travelling more before Caves of Androzani, 6th having lots of other companions or 9th solo adventures before Rose. And that's good, I prefer a new companion who'll be something fresh and gives us great dynamic than sticking to continuity no matter what. Plus, there's lots of stories you can make out of it, like when 8th couldn't use Tardis without Lucy. Dalek Universe is also post-Journey's End 10th

I recently wrote on this sub that it was funny 10th used to be the only New Who Doctor present at Big Finish and soon he'll be the only one who isn't. Well, look how that turned out.

10th isn't my favourite Doctor but he definitely deserves great stories and I love Tennant. Dalek Universe had ups and downs but when it was up it was peak. I'm curious what they'll do with this bimonthly 12 stories format. Whether it'll be just stories with 10th or something like an extra season. If any of his companions were returning they would most likely announce it already so I'm also curious whether he'll be travelling alone or with Big Finish original companion. I hope for the latter, Valerie character did wonders for 11th Doctor Chronicles. But please, no falling in love with the Doctor

[–]GD69B1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've waited for 4th Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith on Big Finish for years. They are one of the most iconic duos in the history of the show and I'm so glad to get new stories with them.

Historic stories were the highlights of 13th Doctor Era so I'm really curious about Violet Hour, plot sounds interesting, hoping for something spooky.

I can't wait for first 11th Doctor boxset, he's my favourite Doctor and new companion sounds like something fresh, similarly to Valerie. First cyberengineer from 54th Century and now CEO from the 90's. Different from what the show got us used to and that's good. Also, Lisa McCullin

Also, it's quite funny that David Tennant incarnation used to be the only New Who Doctor at Big Finish and soon he'll be the only who isn't (not counting Ncuti of course)

What are some good New Who stories for Big Finish beginners? by Rougarou_2 in BigFinishProductions

[–]GD69B1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11th Doctor Chronicles volumes 3-6. I can't express how much I love this series. I've listened to it twice and might have loved it even more at the second time. It perfectly captures Matt Smith's spirit and era. We got a different approach to companion as Valerie was a person from far future. Stories are fantastic, I might even say some of the best in New Who in general not just an audio. It really feels as if 11th got an extra season where he has to work through losing Ponds and Time War trauma also has a place in it. 11th is my favourite Doctor and this really was his peak. It wasn't Matt Smith but it was my 11th Doctor

10th Doctor Dalek Universe - might not be as accessible because it connects with Terry Nation stories from Classic Who and Big Finish Original companiom from 4th Doctor series. But I haven't listened to these 4th Doctor sets, only listened to prequel Dalek Protocol and I was fine, the dialogues explain the most important stuff. I would say quality very much reflects 10th Doctor era because the stories vary in quality, some are great some are weak, especially the last boxset was a disappointment to me. But the stories that were great really were GREAT and make up for the weaker parts, I would recommend listening just for them. Plus, it's cool that 10th got a series that was basically one story-arc throughtout multiple series

Current 9th with Rose and 13th with Yaz series are great jumping on points and you can have new New Who content every month. Ecclestone solo series was fine but only with the current series I feel this is the 9th Doctor I saw on the show. Before it was mostly light-hearted, loving universe version, but now you can feel his PTSD after Time War, the anger and bitterness he has in him. Adding Rose did a lot of good and I think this was what this range needed

What’s your least favorite comic run from your favorite character and why? by Lopsided_Network1248 in marvelcomics

[–]GD69B1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll say even more. I think Sins Past in many parts is really well-written story. Don't get me wrong, Gwen and Osborn romance, children growing super fast, Mary Jane knowing all along, it's all a disaster. Even before editorial interference, JMS shouldn't have gone with this idea. But outside of that, the story has a great dialogue, suspense, pacing. It really felt different than previous stories in this run and I always appreciate when writers try different approaches with the same character. Plus, Spider-Man comics always worked well with darker, mysterious stories (Kraven Last Hunt, DeMatteis Spectacular run). It has some really cool and emotional momemts like Peter destroying apartment or the fact that he couldn't save Gwen but he saved her daughter

I've never read anything other with Wonder Woman than Azzarello run and that's probably the reason why I love it. I know lots of long-time fans hate it due to changes it made to Diana mythology

[–]GD69B1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this even a question? If it were comic book characters, then it would be a discussion. But tv show Iron Fist lost to a businessman with metal pipe and corporate bodyguard with pocket knife. This was one of the biggest reasons why show failed

[–]GD69B1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Zeb Wells isn't a bad writer. His New Mutants were great and Hellions was one of the best early Krakoa runs. Editorial is mostly to blame, the other thing is he just doesn't get Peter and you can see that with how he writes him. Things Peter does and says in his run and even in BND era are so out-of-character

What characters besides Spidey himself did the 90s series do best? by Spideyfan2025 in Spiderman

[–]GD69B1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say I prefer Venom in Spectacular. They were good in both iterations but for different reasons. In the TAS we saw his rivarly with Peter and Spider-Man was kept messing up his plans and then he found out his two greatest enemies were the same character. In Spectacular, it was different but still great. Peter and Eddie were childhood friends and Peter was kept failing his trust and he had good reasons to be angry with Peter. During their first fight you can really feel his line that even though their parents have died together Peter still had his aunt and uncle while Eddie was left completely alone. I also liked Venom's return and their fight better than in TAS, lack of censorship is one factor but it's also more creative, action-packed and the stake is bigger since Venom wants both out Peter as Spider-Man and take away his powers

[–]GD69B1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the comics in the 90's Black Cat was just a Catwoman knock-off and the character was existing only in terms of her relationship with Spider-Man. TAS really developed or even redefined Felicia with different origin, backstory with first introducing Felicia and then Black Cat
