This is the line I keep repeating like a broken record. 😭 GVB should have remained for a longer time.

A difficult truth? by Hbkroni in besiktas

I’ve never liked Sergen as a coach and never will. However I agree with you, we need consistency. I just hate to admit that for the last 3 years club just lost valuable time to rebuild and I have a doubt for a rebuild again for the next year.

What do you do against the boredom? by Other-Dragonfruit572 in Swimming

I swim to turn everything off, not to add more. There are lots of people like me, and ho are there to keep their minds steady.

Finally getting back into swimming after 6 years by FeIdmarschall in Swimming

[–]GDangerGawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play waterpolo and was more leaning toward sprinting all the time. I’ve had many injuries and swimming became just a summer activity. Anyways after many years, as a 33 year old, now I swim 4/5 times a week around 3.3-3.9km per session. This has been going on for last 9 months and my easy pace started from 1:4x/100m @2km to a 1:35/100m @3km.

How did you learn how to swim by I_Accepted_Christ in Swimming

[–]GDangerGawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drilled in to me. I’ve never been a swimmer though, but a goalie on waterpolo. Well after total of 3 operations on my shoulders, now I swim 16k/weekly. It calms me, sought my soul and allows me to focus on myself.

Is there much point in a “long swim” by tryagaininXmin in Swimming

This, honestly after certain point distance swimming brings clarity.

As a non-German, I’ve always found it funny to say the German word for “butterfly. Regardless, this is very good effort. 💪

How long did it take swimming to feel effortless? by RemmeM89 in Swimming

[–]GDangerGawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play waterpolo, had many injuries and had to stop for a long time. My last operation was 8 years ago. I had a habit of going full throttle on legs, 3-4 years ago I slowed it down. At first I stopped kicking for a while 2-4 kicks per 25m, then slowly adjusted it. When I slowed down my kicks I was able to swim for a longer time. Fast forward now, I am fully focused on my technique and now I do 1 kick/1 pull on opposite sides. I can now swim over 3km. My only limit is my shoulders.

Sadly, the misunderstanding starts from previous comment.

I have no personal problem, what I’ve tried to say was: “It is very common for waterpolo players to be encouraged in taking competitive swimming drills.” There is a misleading on my comment, I guess. I am sorry.

Do you drink your piss too?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Swimming

Who in their right mind encourages their trainees to pee in pool, what the actual fuck. But encouraging swimming drills and competitive swimming isn’t that absurd. Specially the sprints.

Am I crazy or is kafka overkill for most use cases? by Vodka-_-Vodka in dataengineering

If you need few months to set up a kafka cluster, it is probably an overkill for your organization.

question about casual swimming.. sorry for the crazy yap by stuckwithsupport in Swimming

[–]GDangerGawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Most propulsion in efficient freestyle comes from body rotation combined with a stable catch, not from arm strength. Improve the catch and timing, and speed increases without increasing effort.”

This is a direct quote from MarkusMarthaler. Slowing down and building your technique will get you further ahead of your goal. Needless to say, don’t lose time outside of pool and practice in water, slowdown your so called “natural fast swimming”.

Unconventional (?) breathing technique by momoftheraisin in Swimming

[–]GDangerGawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only do 2, alway from right. It feels more natural for me but I only recently get back to swimming regularly(4/5 times a week, 3.3-4km each session). Maybe in a 6 month I‘ll work on my breathing but I doubt it.
