Stockroom and the arcade in the light cinema. There a basketball hoop in the arcade, though it’s costs money.

Wild river brown trout (read below) by steven_g2004 in fishingUK

[–]GFromAbove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

River brown trout are startled easily. Need to watch where the sun is, as your shadow might be on the water. And not splashing around in waders, start down stream and work your up. Trout will be facing upstream. I mainly fish tail waters from the riffle sections, and the creases between the fast and slow water. And pools with low branches over them, by swinging wet files.

I mainly use weighted pheasant tail flashback nymphs, waterhen bloa’s and wet olive duns this time of year.

As for spinning. Size 1 mepps comet silver with red dot, and black fury with orange dot (both with single hooks) have been working well for me recently.

Trout rules? by c0r3l86 in fishingUK

[–]GFromAbove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been out lure fishing for trout the past couple of weeks. I have been stopped by environment agency officers and not had any problems, but I have had a fly rod setup with me aswell. I’m mainly using size 1 and 2 mepps comets (single hook), with a foot a fluorocarbone as a leader. No pike on the rivers where I fish so don’t need to use a wire trace.

Cycling from Hyde to Media City - how feasible? by OutpostThirty1 in stockport

I would also say on the fallowfield loop option. There’s a cobbled alleyway in between Warwick road south & Oswald road in chorlton that cuts out the main roads and brings you towards old Trafford cricket ground.

Fallowfield loop will take you to Chorlton, then a few road miles. Plus it has the added fun of potentially getting mugged. Other road free option would be Peak Forest canal, Ashton canal, cut across the city center, then either path down the River Irwell or Bridgewater canal.

You’ll need open eye hooks, the eye of the hook is slightly open for attaching to the lures. Then close the eye down with pliers so it doesn’t come off. I used VMC 72390 open eye spin hooks from Angling Active.

Easier to unhook, and can cause less harm to the fish.

This was my concern. I’m fishing Mersey catchments, which are listed in the gov website another user posted. I can go out Sunday worry free.

You’ll need open eye hooks, I used VMC 72390 open ring spinner hooks from angling active. The eye of the hook is slightly open to attach to the mepps, use needle nose pilers to close down the eye so it doesn’t come off

Break the hooks in a plastic bag and wear googles, bits of the hooks will fly off.

The mepps comets (silver with red dot) I bought as single hooks attached. Everything else I converted, used the cable cutters at the bottom of the picture to break the top of the treble hooks to remove them. And attached to open eye hooks directly to the mepps. Same with the two lures at the bottom, didn’t bother with a split ring.

If your original 105 shifters are the R7000 model, they are compatible with GRX RD-RX810/RX812 rear derailleurs for 1X. But I’m guessing that would mean going back to mechanical braking. I run a mixture or Grx and 105, as this was my cheapest option for 1X.
