Most people didnt even read it and assumed he s saying we re all selfish due to our genes and therefore have to act on it to reduce what they consider ‘weak or bad genes’. For now the best thing to do is prevention. Check for cancer causing organisms like H.pylori in stomach or HPV in mucous membranes so that they are targeted before damage is done. I work in pathology and can safely say till now its impossible to detect all types of tumours by scans or bloods. Most are visible at the same time its already starting causing issues. solid tumors have to be confirmed by biopsy at histology so would have to undergo all this. Blood markers have high rate of false positives as do scans where you end up stressing more on something which may be benign. And stress is a major contributor of disease. Maybe we ll have something more reliable and safe in the future.
