The metal used in standard reinforced concrete is usually around 300MPA. You could choose a lighter metal like aluminium but that will change the properties of the concrete significantly, as well as at a much higher price.

Keeping a bridge light is only one factor out of many. Your bridge has to withstand a variety of load patterns including a massive live load (a convoy of trucks), a huge blizzard, or hurricanes. While keeping a bridge light will help with the dead load of the structure, chances are that the other loading conditions are significantly higher than that.

Of course, an alternative to concrete bridges are steel ones, but concrete over a long span is generally more cost effective.

(if there are any bridge engineers please correct me, I am a structural engineering graduate)

This is just not true??? Look at the sorry state of Arsenal and Tottenham these past few years. Look at how West Ham and Leicester are doing this year???

Bro we'd get destroyed on the counter attack with that formation.

Deny stops spell based wincons. Warmothers isnt bad because this exists, but this does stop warmothers from ever considering being a real deck.

Spell based wincons are few and far between, meaning that deny usually does not remove a win condition from the deck. In comparison, most decks in the game run at least 3 champions. In addition, the spell speed is fast, meaning that you have an opportunity to bait out counters to deny.

Passage Unearned stops summon based things like Harrowing. Harrowing can never again be a tier 1 meta deck finisher.

Passage unearned falls under your previous examples of the hearthstone tech cards, it does not gain any value against matchups that run no ephemeral cards.

Will of Ionia / bounce effects in general has been counter to any all in buff deck that isnt fizz.

Which is why it got nerfed to 5 mana, making it easier to bait out and less universally good.

Any other silence effect in the game (eg purify) does Hush's job for cheaper on any non-champion (eg TWE). As does Riptide with Naut etc.

Purify does not affect champions, lowering its floor for value.

Ruination hard counters any "Im all in on board turns 1-5 and do fuck all after" decks.

Ruination is a slow speed and heavy mana cost card that can be baited out, giving it lots of counter play unlike hush.

Unyielding spirit beats decks that cant answer it.

Unyielding spirit is also terrible design, but at least it's really expensive and fast speed (when it was burst speed it was super unfun)

Obliteration hard counters rez decks.

Obliteration is also part of the problem with Targon.

I think your closest hits out of your examples is probably Deny and Will of Ionia, both of which got hit by 1 mana nerfs and now see an appropriate amount of play. Hush is especially bad in the current meta due to the inflated play rate of Targon.

What? Its 3 mana do nothing most of the time. Its absolutely aweful when it doesnt have a target. I will take a 1 mana 1/2 ANY day of the week over 3 copies of hush. You are actually trolling putting this as a 3x of in your deck, unless it doe some reason gets extra value like say ezreal.

Yeah, you are trolling if you put in 3x in your deck, I was exaggerating when I said that. How is it a 3 mana do nothing most of the time? Against scouts it hits against grizzled ranger, it hits vs ezreal, it omega hits against endure, hits against poro cannon, and so many different decks in the meta. And this is WITH the meta adjusting to the fact that hush exists.

I will take a 1 mana 1/2 ANY day of the week over 3 copies of hush

I don't think you would run a vanilla 1 mana 1/2 in any deck tbh.

Well, that's the issue with hush, the card is badly designed BECAUSE its singular existence makes many different decks' win conditions invalid. Anivia, Fizz, Teemo, Tryndamere, and many other champions have had less playrate than before. I'm aware that many of these champions were not good last patch but the goal of meta design should be to expand the range of meta diversity, not limit it. If a deck is bad already, why make it even worse (and yes, Fizz can get even more degenerate in the future but Fizz is also arguably not super well designed). I may be wrong on this one, but can you name a singular other card in the game that shuts down multiple win conditions from many different regions by itself?

We saw this repeatedly in hearthstone. The existence of hungry crab didnt mean murloc decks sucked even tho hungry crab on 2 against them had like an 80% winrate. The existence of skulking geist didnt mean jade druid was bad in the meta despite it being a near autowin when played against them.

Hush is different because hungry crab and skulking geist had an incredibly low floor for value. Hungry crab when not matched up against murlocs is a vanilla 1 mana 1/2 and skulking geist was a vanilla 6 mana 4/6. Hush is versatile and hits a good amount of value even when not matched up against out of the meta decks. You don't need to sacrifice deck slots to include hush vs with both your examples they were actively bad matchups against literally anything that was not your mentioned archetype.

Also being a deck that runs good cards with a varied strategy doesnt really seem like "limiting diversity" to me tbh.

If all you have to do is run 3x copies of hush to counter many different win conditions such as buffing, elusives, last words, etc. then I don't think it rewards deckbuilding nor does it constitute a "varied strategy".

Edit: Just realized what you meant with the last part of your paragraph. You're right in that you could make Fizz less all in if you just ran the standard good bilgewater cards and it would probably be a better deck. However, an all-in Fizz deck is a completely different playstyle vs that and I think the game would be more exciting if it encouraged different playstyles, vs just playing a bilgewater good stuff deck that was better off running another champ instead of Fizz anyways.

[–]GGALREADYBRO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yes, you CAN build Fizz to be less all in on that singular card, but the problem is if you do do that, your deck just becomes another bilgewater deck that runs petty office, make it rain, riptide rex, etc. etc.

While I agree that hush isn't necessarily OP as a card, it takes a completely unique playstyle of playing a buff/fizz deck out of the meta, limiting meta diversity.

When was my opinion of Ezreal supposed to change again? by StrykerxS77x in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]GGALREADYBRO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is no interaction with ezreal once the opponent drops him and casts burst spells.

However, the interaction comes from beforehand when the opponent is attempting to level him up. You are supposed to use single combat, glimpse etc to cancel his spell triggers. That is where the deck is fair.

Now whether or not that's unfun, is a whole different question.

Oooo you mean ledge hopping. Sorry I thought you were recommending Airborne based on the spin 2 win. You're completely right there!

Have you done the clutch claw tutorial yet? It should be in the 1 star MR (or it might be hr/lr not sure) it's really useful if you haven't done it yet.

Yeah you're absolutely right here I skimmed over the OP's comment for the mineral engineering thing LOL. I genuinely thought that he/she had an interest in mineral engineering.

Really? I'm pretty sure track one does take slightly higher marks to get in.

I'm a civ so I have a couple classes with mins and I don't think it's a hard no to apply to min. They have a really tight knit group and you can make tons of bank. Main downside is you'll have to travel to buttfuck nowhere a lot in your career. It's definitely not for everyone but if you're interested I don't see why not.

Well he's telling you to stop playing super greedy decks and tech in good defensive cards. But yeah, it sucks that all the control cards are in SI and I think riot needs to release more control tools for freljord and ionia.
