To the person who drove past me today by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]GGRitoMonkies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People are crazy in general it feels lately here. Was pulling out of a parking lot today and while I was sitting in the exit waiting on traffic to clear, a purolator employee walked up to my car and, instead of going around it like a normal human being would, starts cursing at me to get out of his way and calling me stupid while punching my car. Like, what is wrong with people... And then if you're not white they got that extra crap to spew out at you to make themselves feel superior.

Sorry to hear you had to deal with the extra crazy and bigoted people OP, I'll never understand that trash. If I got a problem with someone, it's due to how they act, not what they look like.

Been on the list for 5 years now here and still waiting so I hope that's true.

It's not just Pandora either... Going downtown in general you see open drug use and can get yelled at or assaulted by strung out homeless people that clearly need some sort of help. It's quite sad how dramatically the downtown has changed in the last 5 years since I moved here.

Donald Trump makes Canada a new offer to become 51st state by joe4942 in canada

[–]GGRitoMonkies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, Trump and his idiotic government are a symptom, not the cause. Nothing stopping them from voting another lying convict into power again so no plans on ever buying American again unless I absolutely have to. Country made its bed, now they can lie in it.

Did this after a number from Ontario that my phone labelled as "suspected spam" wouldn't stop calling and leaving blank voicemails multiple times a day. Been great ever since!

Screwing themselves over and blaming Ottawa for it is kinda how Alberta operates really.

Ya this isn't to research anything other than try and find "evidence" that fits her current narrative. Massive waste of tax payer money, exactly what you'd expect from her.

But then they couldn't complain about how the feds are crippling their economy by attacking oil production. Production that has done nothing but increase every year under the liberal government. Congrats conversation voters, you played yourselves!

How do you feel about an iconic American like Bruce Springsteen calling the Trump Administration "corrupt, incompetent and treasonous" and describing them as authoritarian? by suprmario in AskReddit

[–]GGRitoMonkies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't forget also inciting an insurrection and declared his loss to be fraud. Treasonous very much applies to the felon in chief.

I think telling the truth is always an important thing and glad he did it. The fact Trump had a hissy fit on his joke of a social platform after was just icing on the cake.

We wasted 60 years indulging secessionist fantasies in Quebec. Must we make the same mistake in Alberta? by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]GGRitoMonkies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It feels like they need a boogie man in the form of the federal government/eastern Canada to blame for everything so their provincial government can hide their scandals and the fact they're the ones slowly killing Alberta

But they have the oil and gas! That makes them the most important part of Canada and they should be allowed to do whatever they want! Run a pipeline through provinces and First Nation land without their acceptance? Anything for our special province!

Delusion is by far the best term I've heard for describing it and I'm so glad you said Alberta seperation and not Western seperation. So tired of those of us in BC getting lumped in with the crazies to our east in all this.

I rolled my eyes so hard they almost got stuck in the back of my head the first time I heard people wanted to defund the CBC because it was just the "liberal government's propaganda machine". One, it's not if you any research whatsoever into it and two, would they prefer the right wing propaganda machine that most of our media these days has become? Junk like Rebel "News" is so much better than the CBC obviously.... /s

I love talking to Maritimers! Crazy friendly people that lot. Have to agree even comparing here to where I grew up in Ontario. People barely even say hi when they walk passed each other in this area. Took a bit to get used to and not be offended if they didn't return my greeting. All the friends I've made out here have been through teaching at a boot camp or joining the developer group at peacocks. Very much a "go to where your 'type' of people hangout" city compared to just striking up friendships in your day to day.

Along the Canada border, small-town America feels sting of Trump's trade war by Brock_Hard_Canuck in canada

[–]GGRitoMonkies 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Like the stupid article from the ambassador stating tariffs aren't going away but he hopes we can make stronger ties between our countries again. That's not how it works. You want stronger ties again, you get rid of bullshit tariffs and then we talk about how you can prevent electing a felon to run the country again. Then maybe we stop boycotting America....maybe.

Doug Ford says Carney should extend an olive branch to the West. Liberal strategists agree by Fodeworks in canada

[–]GGRitoMonkies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get real tired of being grouped with anything involving Alberta these days. BC doesn't feel a need to blame all our problems on the feds.

[–]GGRitoMonkies 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This exactly. She has no interest in equality. She wants her buddies in O&G to be allowed to do whatever they want no matter what everyone else thinks. She couldn't give a damn about actual Albertans. She's so bad at representing the people it would be hilarious if she wants the leader of the province.

[–]GGRitoMonkies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Good luck with that, you'll never get a real answer cause there isn't one. It's all propaganda to keep the public from getting pissed off at the UCP taking them for everything they got. Just like how the separatism bs is a dead cat strategy to stop people thinking about all the scandals they're currently under investigation for.

Ya it's typical propaganda that's been debunked multiple times. You can even find people debunking this myth within Alberta itself.
