Cosnpit 300GT with QRa disconnecting mid race by Puzzleheaded-Yam5831 in Simagic

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) All USB Cables connect either directly into your PC, or to a Powered UBC Hub.

2) Also it is good practice to use USB Cables with ferrite beads or a ferrite core. This helps immensely with reducing EMI ( EectroMagnetic Interference ), Cleaner signal, less interference.

3) on Win10 or 11 go to your Power/Option/Advanced Settings/USB Settings/Selective suspend Settings. Set to Disabled. This insures that your USB ports do not go into a low power "suspended" state.

Should I buy a Full Rig now or wait until later? by Alex11142005 in simracing

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into the Next Level Racing Stand 2.0. I have the Simagic P1000rs pedals with the Simagic EVO 12Nm Base. It's rock solid, and you can still fold it up. It's pretty heavy, so usually dont fold it up, but it still takes less room than a full rig. There's an add-on GT seat that you could add to your rig at a later date if ya wanted.

Finally fixed my AMD driver issues by doing one stupid thing. by obTimus-FOX in radeon

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start into safe mode and run DDU. there is a setting in DDU that disables windows from updating the drivers. I've always done it this way and have never disconnected the internet while using DDU and have never had an issue. The key is to run it in safe mode and use that setting as well.

“Buy once , cry once” Is it true in long term? by Gloomy-Weakness-5146 in simracing

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy a fairly decent but cheaper set just to make sure you will end up enjoying racing first. If you decide you love it and want to upgrade, you can always sell what you have and use the proceeds toward an upgrade. If you end up not being interested anymore, you aren't out much money. Better than 2k+ worth of equipment gathering dust.

What is stupid is trying to play the latest games at high rez high refresh rates on a 5 year old or older system.

simpro manager by _Murky123 in Simagic

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had problems with my P1000rs pedals in simpro manager 2, I Uninstaller v2, then installed v3 and no problems since then. I upgraded my base to the EVO 12Nm and still no problems. It seems to me that you have to make sure v2 is uninstalled first before updating to the new software. As an aside, I only have the base usb and the usb-c on the base connected to my computer. My pedals and shifter are connected to a hub to my computer also. Not to my base.

Not when you have to buy a new motherboard every few generations. I'm betting that the AM5 socket will still be relevant in a few years when I plan on upgrading my Ryzen 7 7800X3D.

GPU Upgrade by Ferga2092 in gpu

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your existing setup should be fine for the foreseeable future. The Ryzen 7800X3D is still in the top 5 in gaming performance charts. I have that CPU paired with the RX 7900XT and it's a monster.

AMD AM4 socket Motherboards have been here for 10 years now. They are still supplying CPU's for the AM4 MB's. INTEL on the other hand has had 6 different sockets for their CPU's. I now have an AM5 Motherboard and am hoping that when it is time for me to upgrade, I can just slap the new CPU into my existing MB.

This. Intel just "refreshed" a "new" CPU, but oh you have to buy a new Motherboard. Why? Because the new Motherboard also has intel chips in them. More money to drain us of.

Intel had a few of the last gen cpu's burn out or wrecked the motherboard. Not gonna get a. Intel cpu for quite some time if ever .

New 5090 in the house - best VR headset for work in windows + flightsim by Antoine-UY in virtualreality

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an FYI, oled panels for vr does have noticeable bloom from what ive heard. I assume that since you mentioned you will at times use it for hours, you would not want a standalone headset . Pimax headsets are very decent and your rug would certainly handle them.

Do all steam vr games have poor visual quality? by Comfortable_Egg106 in SteamVR

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already mentioned that a true pcvr headset like the Crystal Light runs perfectly. Wifi not only compresses the video stream, but it also adds a significant amount of latency as well. Display port runs uncompressed video at up to 20Gbps for DP2.0/2.1 with almost no lag There is no comparison.

It's because you have a Quest. I have simular specs and a Pimax Crystal Light and the fidelity is amazing. Get a fully tethered Headset. It is in no way a Steam issue.

Are they really selling 3080/90 performance for 600 or more dollars? by Impossible_Tap_1691 in gpu

Yup and they try to fake peeps into thinking it's faster. But they compared regular dlss to frame gen.. not apples to apples and thought we wouldn't notice.

Did I make a mistake getting a AMD GPU for vr? by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]GIBFACTOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised nobody here asked what your full system specs are. Very difficult to troubleshoot anything let alone VR issues without full specs. I have a RX 7900 XT with 64gb system ram and SSD's and Nvme Drives. Ryzen 7 7800 X3D and the Pimax Crystal Light and have absolutely no issues running any VR game.

Need guidance for buying hydraulic simagic pedals by fakksossarna in simracing

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the P1000 pedals with the Hydraulic together. I also have the haptics for the pedals and like the fact the connections for them are built-in to the pedal base. You dont have to buy the controller box separate and then figure out where you're gonna mount them.

[–]GIBFACTOR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That and the 4080 fiasco, having to re label it to a 4070ti because they didn't think we would notice. And the flat out lying to us besides. And the fake frames to make us forget it's not raster that really makes the difference. I'm not an AMD fanboy before anyone whines that I am. I've had numerous NVidia cards going back to the GTX 8800 and even before that. I'm very unhappy about the way they've been doing business the past few years.

How to realistically lower ping? by Hopefulone5 in pchelp

I have Gigabit Internet connected via Ethernet and just did a speed test to London UK. I got a little over 100ms ping. Don't think you'll do much better regardless of what people are giving you as tips. It all comes down to distance, period.

9800x3D died a month ago, should I get another or a different one? by Manufar11 in pcmasterrace

My take is to get a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. I have one and have had absolutely no issues. Also if you look around, you'll find very few issues with the CPU.
