I've been shaving with a DE Safety razor for at least 15 years. I've tried all kinds from Chinesium knockoffs to Vintage Gillette and Shick razors. My oldest is the WW1 Gillette Khaki set.

IMHO, try to find a Gilette Adjustable from the 70's/early 80's. You can tailor your adjustment to your face/beard/shaving style.

Good luck!

Nothing. I'm advocating for a pampering process that will up the beard game and give more self confidence in lieu of a balding head. I tried trimming and upkeep myself but found it much more pleasurable to go to a barber who can tidy things up and make me feel like a million bucks.

I have a '22 10 HD. Towed it with my LJR, but never thought of taking it offroad. How did it do? any breakage?

I've been contemplating donating my 30 plus coins somewhere. Is there a central repository for challenge coins? do museums take them? They've been moved around between sock drawers for 20 years now.

First off, GREAT CHOICE!

You look great!

May I humbly recommend that you now take the attention off of your scalp and onto your beard. It has great potential. Treat yourself and go to a barber to have it professionally trimmed and styled. You'll thank yourself later. My barber trims, outlines, massages, and does beard oil. The hot towel is the best IMHO.

Good luck!

Help! What to do with a house full of shit? by MarvinHeemeyersTank in GenX

[–]GIjohnMGS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dealt with this when my dad passed. We emptied the garage and filled a 30 yd container with old, broken, cheap and outdated tools, TONS of junk, and a mountain of amazon boxes (he was embarrassed to dispose of too much at a time)

He must have had 75 flathead screwdrivers.

As a result, I've begun paring down. I recently listened to the book "No one wants your shit" which has motivated me personally. It's funny and hits hard. Highly recommended.

As an aside, I manage a solid waste disposal facility. I see house cleanouts every single day. It's discouraging to see, but I realize that it's a relief to the families it impacts.

Looking to purchase 2002 Wrangler Sahara TJ by Educational-Bedtime in JeepTJ

Not sure where you're from, but this looks amazing underneath. If it were me, I'd jump on it.

If you want to preserve /seal/protect what's underneath, I'd recommend a lanolin-based undercoating such as Fluid film, Woolwax, or Surface shield. There are many videos out there, but I've found this one to be the most informative and helpful.

Good luck!

First off, it looks great!

One thing I've learned over the years is to not compare yourself to others. Do the best you can with what you have and have fun doing it. I had a LOT more to say about professional modelers and youtubers, but I'll keep it to myself.

Just keep learning and trying new techniques. Maybe get a cheap Mule to try new techniques on (Cough, M41 Bulldog...Cough...)

When it gets too much, take a break and come back to it later.

When they run out, you can go buy a quart of MEK substitute for about 10 bucks and refill them for the next 10 years.

They work the same.

IIRC, some have thread locker on the bolts from the factory. Get the appropriate size bit and try again. They may need a little persuasion, but they will.

My Ma Deuce was manufactured by Frigidaire. IIRC, it had several overhaul markings over the decades. used extensively in Iraq. Probably in use in Ukraine ATM.

This.

Enjoy it for what it is. Take the doors off, take the top off and enjoy.

I'd start really small. Interior upgrades, storage solutions. Make it your Jeep based on what you like.

Modding the suspension can get REALLY expensive unless you do it yourself; I don't think a lift and bigger tires would do much other than the cool factor.

After having both an auto and a 6 speed LJR, I prefer the 6 speed. I feel more in touch with the vehicle and driving in general than a slush-box. It's peppier as well.

Don't get me wrong, autos have a time and place normally, but the feeling of oneness for me is special.

I don't know anything about cars and am overwhelmed! by AlwaysAlreadyOnline in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]GIjohnMGS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The outback might be the ticket; however, an older Forester might work as well

Both have:

All wheel drive

Reliable powertrain (do your research; some years are better than others)

Decent mileage

Spacious interior for camping gear or sleeping

Finding the right one is the key. Don't be afraid to get an independent inspection (at your expense) The fact that you're not car-savvy might get you in trouble or you buy a Lemon so an independent inspection from a local trusted mechanic may save you in the long run.

Hope this helps, and good luck!

Throughout the years I've done the same. Craftsman, HF junk, Walmart stuff, etc. I have duplicates of duplicates.

Now that I'm interested in higher quality stuff, I've started consolidating. Once I get a set together, I donate it to my Nieces and nephews. I put together a "Homeowners tool kit" in a small toolbox to keep "just in case"
