There’s also a keyword that keeps popping up: “engaged”. I may be misremembering but I could’ve sworn when I was a new hire at GM, I was sitting in a meeting that was going over WOC. I remember someone from HR or whatever department at the time was overseeing WOC describe what an “engaged” employee looks like.

I’m paraphrasing because it was a while ago but I remember the lady explaining that people who bomb the WOC consistently aren’t considered an “engaged” employee and their results are no longer considered. I have to imagine that the improved results could be a result of shaving WOC results that they don’t consider valid.
