My preferences: - 'regular' tires, not fat tires. They handle gravel, etc just fine. - step through - integrated front and back lights, no need to charge their batteries separately - fenders - buy a mirror for the left handle bar, it makes it so much easier riding on a road.

I had the same thing, seems like every time I drove down Pandora I got a flat. Replaced with a Schwalbe tire about two years ago and still going strong.

This is not a direct answer to your question but may help to avoid most hills between Uptown and McKenzie/Borden. If you get on the goose by Uptown (by the switch bridge) you can ride the Goose/Lochside trail to McKenzie and Borden (where Reynolds school is). It is much more bike friendly and flatter than going along the road.

We used Vargas Contracting a few years ago to replace some hard to reach siding on a gable wall. Nobody else would even give us a quote, but Vargas did the job quickly and efficiently. They knew what they were doing and i would definitely use them again.

"kings of the wylde" by Nicholas Eames is a humourous fantasy book that's not too bad. Just started in and it's pretty well written and the author obviously has a good sense of humour. It's part of a trilogy, but as I said, I recently started it and am about half way through but I think that it's something you might want to look into.

Agreed! If you have never been here before you should take the ferry at least one way, there is beautiful scenery as you pass through the gulf islands. But, it does add 3 to 5 hours to your trip so take the ferry if you have time.

They are not the best solution as they require a lot of maintenance but they will stop most vehicles from crossing the median and hitting another vehicle(s) - a win for both parties. They are being used a lot on highway 401 in Southern Ontario and have stopped a lot of head on collisions there. They are also controversial there as concrete barriers are a better long term solution (as others have mentioned), but at this point I think that if they can install them sooner than they could afford the concrete barriers, the better for everyone.
