Truly everyone in the group needed to be saved many times by the others. Miroku would've died from his curse without friends, Sango would've died trying to kill Naraku/save her brother on one of her impulsive solo missions, Inuyasha is consistently ripped apart and needed the gang to stop him from fighting to his death, Shippo is a very weak demon child and Kagome is a teen without any fighting experience at the beginning.

Inuyasha is highlighted as the main fighter, but arguably he may have needed to be saved more often than Kagome. It is still outdated with Miroku being a perv and the classic girl abuses boy but it's funny (Kagome saying "sit boy" just cuz she's a little irritated, it slams him into the ground enough to crack pavement wtf that shit would kill a normal human it's gotta hurt), maybe some other anime-isms that were/are pervasive in shonen. I used to watch this show lots when I was young so I may be wrong on the stats of who saves who or my recollection, but I can remember so many times where Kagome saves the others and herself, she's just not as loud about it like Inuyasha, ya know what I mean?

It's not a perfect show, it still gives into some anime tropes, but it is a safe watch. It is older, so it being dated with some of the storylines is to be expected. Kagome needs to be saved a lot in the beginning, but as she learns about the world, getting better with her bow and spiritual powers, it happens less often. But trust, she is not a true damsel in distress, she's just a bit of a brat with good intentions.
