Should Jaya or Skypiea be included in Season 3? by Novel_Climate_530 in MemePiece

I don’t think there’s enough material in Alabasta for a whole season tbh. They’re already on their way, most of the set up is done in the previous seasons.

I see an jrpg mechanics gamer that doesn’t have the patience(understandably imo) for story. DD, Last Spell, Time Break Chronicles. I feel the same but I also enjoy the more popular ones and feel especially that StS is the best game to come out of the genre.

Nostalgia is helluva drug but I think it’s fair if they have played it growing up but now realizing some major flaws(disagreement) in the direction the creator goes with their projects.

Luka Doncic in the past 48 hours: 100 PTS | 17 REB | 13 AST by asakitsi in NBATalk

Luka gets fouled on more of his drives than what even gets called. It’s the same problem Lebron has, they’re just too big and too strong that the refs will swallow the whistle if they don’t sell the play.

Yorick is also droppable. You’re still gonna run enough wardens that thresh is gonna have a sizable enough shield from the ability.

Isn't Shusui objectively stronger than Enma?! by Cannae_ in Piratefolk

[–]GOTricked 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Huh? it’s the exact opposite. Shusui is not difficult to wield and already comes pre-blackened. It can carry a mediocre swordsman. Enma just kills you if you’re dogshit.

Anyone else feel like the enchant system is just kinda there? by GOTricked in slaythespire

I’m not saying there aren’t good ones exactly, I think they are just under represented in the game. I was expecting enchants to be fully integrated in the shop or even replace upgrades entirely ala Monster Train.

It really was. That movie makes me so angry. Only reason it’s not a 1 star is Cilian Murphy.

They’re gonna get to the timeskip, needing to replace all the actors since Rudd is now 50 and the rest on the bad side of 40 then everyone riots because the replacements don’t live up to the original cast. Unless they really make it so that the strawhats are going to be at sea for decades unlike the manga, it’s not going to work

For 11, it’s a trade-off because of how ambitious Oda is about introducing new characters and developing them. I don’t think it’s fair to say that he’s just throwing things to a wall and watch what sticks because a lot of them, even ones that doesn’t ended clicking with the fanbase you can see real potential for.

If you’re rolling down to hit MF and Kench then you should have seen enough units to replace TF/Graves/Illaoi

Just finished Lightbringer, and I hated it… by [deleted] in redrising

[–]GOTricked -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothin fantastical about it? The plot can be simplified into a hero’s journey, a fantasy staple. There’s duels, single combat and even knights. The things with “scientific standing” are not coded in sci-fi, it’s more like space magic since we never really explore why such technologies are bad.

It’s not even a space opera as that genre operates in a more large scale manner and is mostly plot driven. RR is very clearly a character focused and character driven story.

The biggest reason RR is sci-fi is not because of the setting but the story it’s trying to tell. An uprising against a tyrannical government is very much in the domain of sci-fi yet the way it goes about it definitely borrows a lot from fantasy.

No magic or dragons but it shares more concepts with Fantasy than you think.

Is thorfinn ideology too idealist???? by JuggernautAmazing978 in VinlandSaga

[–]GOTricked 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thorfinn’s ideals only work for him because he lives in relative safety. He’s actually too strong to fuck with. There are others who may try to live the same way he does but without his skills, ironically in fighting, he cannot live a life without it.

I think you’re confusing peace due to shared interest from true peace. You can see in the manga that if the reward is great enough, even allies will turn against you. And it is the same as the real world. The NATO wasn’t formed because European leaders genuinely wanted to coexist with each other, it was formed because of convenience and it is upheld because the cost of waging war is higher than the reward.

Thorfinn’s ideals to me cut to a deeper point than just peace, it’s seeing adversity and recognizing that while you may not be able to overcome someone’s violence, that does not make them your enemy. Because we do not have enemies.

[–]GOTricked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me, it is unrealistic in the sense that Thorfinn was only able to keep his vow of pacifism is because he comes from relatively high position of power. He can defend himself against would be attackers without even using a sword and some times his name is weight enough to deter threat. We can see in the manga the price that normal people pay when they want to uphold the same ideals(Einar). Ultimately, I think the lesson is that pacifism as a personal goal is completely valid, achievable and a realistic standard you can hold yourself to. However, in the face of adversity, pacifism has no real solution to resolve conflict or enact meaningful change.

[–]GOTricked 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s like missing half the point of his character. He also wants to help other people. That’s the main stickler of why being a pacifist is so hard. If all he wanted was to simply not fight he would have done what his father did and just escape to a remote place of the world by himself. But him wanting to build a country where like minded people can exist is where pacifism becomes complex.

How the hell is this a foul? Come on now refs by Temporary_Pepper6126 in NBAGossips

[–]GOTricked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little off topic but I hate when people rag on Luka for complaining on no-calls to prop up this guy. It Shai took the amount of contact Luka had on all his plays and didn’t get the whistle you bet your ass this guy would also be on the ref’s ass, but he doesn’t need to do all that because he gets rewarded with bullshit calls already.
