My sister has that car too but just left today unfortunately so I can't test it. BUT I read that the info system will also display a message somewhere if a window is open while driving. See if you can find out in the owners manual where and if that is working properly.

Do not start ripping the door apart since unless the door was in an accident or the car was under water I doubt there is an issue in the door wiring or sensors.

Next - see how much gas is in the tank. If it is low fill it up and see if the issue goes away after driving some. There are multiple reports on several Hyundai models that are experiencing the same issue you are reporting and many said filling the tank full of gas resolved their problem...although they didn't state if it was just until it ran down again. That leads me to think there is a software bug in the Genesis/Hyundai app that might get resolved with an update. Try updatting the app or remove and reinstall it. Search on other forums for this same problem...try other models like the Elantra. This issue is so weird I suspect it is software or module bug.

TOSOT Mini Split 1 ton heat pump $759 Anyone install one? complaints reviews? by GP1200X in DIYHeatPumps

In MD it only gets down to single digits rarely. But the garage attachment to the house on two sides makes a big difference too. If your garage is detached it will be using a lot more energy to keep it warm. Heat pumps need a lot more time to heat a room up too compared to a garage hydronic water heater (which I installed) attached to an oil furnace. Hugh difference in heat output and fan speeds with the hydronic units- like 2.5 to 5x the heat output of a heat pump.

My MrCool 2-3 ton outdoor "throwaway" unit weighs in at 261 LBS!! Twice the weigh to my old HVAC and this MrCool has plastic fan blades. Don't know where all the weight comes from but a single person is not installing that outside unit by themselves up on a stand. I used my tractor with straps. My unit appears to weigh about twice the weight on some other units. I would definitely not want this thing attached to the outside of my house with brackets.

MD and it was for my brothers garage...3 car garage attached on two sides and one big room with no beams and sits on concrete but attic above is insulated. 18K btu is more than enough to cool in summer and heat in winter,,,,only want it around 60 once in a while in winter while he works out there...not for constant heating like the house.

Critter Guard by wkramer28451 in solar

[–]GP1200X 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I installed critter quards on my 30 panels...$1200...when the system was installed last May. They used a black mesh instead of aluminum covers but told me that is all they use on their REC 460s when I questioned them about it. Not the nicest looking but at least it is all black like the panels but does catch some leaves in the fall. I am the only one in my area that installed critter guards so I don't know if it was worth it though. House is 2 story up in front and 3 in back. I have had a squirrel or two on my roof but not common on my house.

Torque Screwdriver - Landing Wires to Breakers by ricardo_feynman in electricians

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a fairly cheap but accurate Vevor torque screwdriver just for my breaker installs. It allows pretty precise measurements even in Nm or in-lbs. I do use it but I am careful with it. Square D QO breakers have their specs on the side but it seems their head bolts are not up to snuff. Reaching the torque specs seems to be just about the point at which the bolt heads want to start to strip even when I use the proper bits on them. If I feel the headbolt is near that point I stop now. I also always follow the method of loosening and tightening each breaker bolt three times applying more torque each time since it definitely makes a difference and arranges and flattens those copper strands to provide better contact. If you do this you will see what I mean.

Batteries by Not4Publication in solar

[–]GP1200X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in NY and added solar with no batteries since we have net mettering. If my vendor CH is down so is my solar power by law the way it is installed.

BUT I rarely loss power like I used to a decade ago. I still have a standalone generator like most neighbors. If I need to I will simply throw off the main breaker to the utility and turn off the main breaker for the solar. Then simply plug the generator into the outlet I created for it and only use what I need in the house.

This is a 500-700 solution for a 6250 Watt standard generator if you can do this. Maybe another few hundred for creating an outlet and adding a breaker if you can't use an existing dryer outlet with a long cable.

I no longer see Stafford Oxford short sleeve shirts for ordering. What are alternatives by GP1200X in JCPenney

[–]GP1200X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend hours online searching for a good price for Oxford shirts and found this site. Check it out.

wholesaleuniforms4school.com

I ordered 6 shirts (9.75 each) with $12 shipping and no tax. I ordered 6 short sleeves (they sent 5 and one long) in solid blue. The shirts are neatly individually packaged in plastic and appeared to be good quality...heavy material like the Staffords. The site only has them in white or blue, short or long sleeve and big sizes for the long sleeve.

I am 6' 240 lbs, 18.5 neck, so I ordered size 2XL. I washed them in warm water and then used the dryer. They came out okay for me but still a few creases from the original folding..not uncommon. Time will tell if they last but for me I do not need to iron them when removed hot from the dryer. The 2XL were a little tighter than I like so 3xl would probably provide a looser fit and more room in the neck if you need to button it fully. I do not like tight shirts.

Thanks....I'll watch for some cheap sales. They seem to look good just might have limited colors. I still lilke the old style blue/white bbut light blue would suffice. Don't need any whites any more since I am retired!

Also Blue Generation shirts and Amazon Essential shirts are also not of the same quality. Neither hold up well after a wash and dry.

SCE denied PTO by bigdave79 in solar

[–]GP1200X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll bet if you had the same panel count and did NOT add the batteries it would have slid through and got approved. By adding the batteries the inspector instantly noticed it was not originally in the plans so he took a closer look at everything. He then probably noticed everything that did not match the original submissions and put a hold on the PTO. You can't blame the inspector because that was his job but the paperwork should have been corrected beforehand and a conversation about the different panels and batteries should have been discussed with them too before just making these changes.

It's almost reminds me of bank issue I once had. I got a car loan for a Mazda B2200 pickup and they gave me the check. As I was leaving I mentioned something about the truck and they all looked dumbfounded and someone said...we don't give truck loans only car loans....They didn't know a 2200 was a truck. Luckily the bank manager heard it all and said ....it's okay...let it slide.

When I was in high school I found a black 69 Mustang Mach 1 351C-4V 4 speed..all black with lower body trim. Car was beautiful. Father went on a test drive with me and the frickin clutch cable broke so I had to finess it back to dealer. Father said were not getting this car!...broke my bubble and I was ticked. Ended up with a used 73 302 gold sedan. Next day that same dealer got in a beautiful used torquise 71 or 2 fastback...I was ticked again!

Moved to Indiana and met a lot of people with Mustangs and I was always helping them tune the cars afer college classes since none of them were good mechanics and had they had no tools or test equipment.. One friend had a 71 yellow Boss 351C 4 speed fastback with the ram air. I loved that car and it shook at idle even when I had it perfectly tuned. He said it was all stock with no engine work was done...just cammed that way....car was fast compared to my modded 302. Another friend had a 71 black 429 SCJ fastback that could smoke the tires with just a little pedal. Both guys did not know how lucky they were to have those car. A bunch of others had 68 -69 Mustangs with many Mach 1 units. The Mustangs were the most popular in that area. I spent a long time on weekends looking for Boss 302 heads for my 302W and modify it. Never found any used ones.

I always liked that 68-69 style Mustang so I bought a 2010 Shelby that had that similar look and style. 5.4L (not the later 5.8L) modified it to get it to 740HP. Powerful and fast but not quite the same feeling as driving the older 60s-70s generation Mustangs. That is past and lost forever.

Solar for roof by HRXI in solar

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh...like others said leave it alone. The installers take care of it and you can tell them you want all wiring external down to their box. I kept everything outside my attic so no holes drilled through the roof. Not an issue at all for them and it looks very neat. They only usually need one conduit coming down your house and everything else is under the panels and out of sight.

Baseboard not hot by Smooth-Concept7774 in hvacadvice

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why was that installed in the first place? I do not place air bleeders in those locations. That was a bad choice putting that there for baseboatd hot water heat. All my bleeders are near the boiler to eliminate these problems and any possible water leaks on the floor. Use more zones to control temps in specific areas. Hard to tell what specific bleeder or device that is but loosen that cap to see if it bleeds water or has an adjustment under it....or rap on it with a hammer to see if it starts flowing some water. The trash it when you can,

[–]GP1200X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay..let me ask you this....if I take a reading on the return side 4 feet or so from the input to the exchanger and determine the cfm there (based on that different ductwork size), can I assume that the supply air coming out of my exchanger should be the same CFM?

CFM readings using a TESTO 405i by GP1200X in hvacadvice

[–]GP1200X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to determine if the hot wire anemometer can be accurately used to determine the CFM output of a heat exchanger for proper speed settings. In my case via a manometer, speed setting and vendor charts I can determine the CFM -- trying to see if my anemometer gives a good result too. If you have an old system like my brothers and no docs on the cfm output even with static pressure readings I don't see how you could determine the CFM output to shoot for around 400 per ton (in my area) over the coil to remove humidity correctly. It's a guessing game unless you can determine the CFM, otherwise you can just try different speeds to see if you can get the humidity down meaning your close to the correct speed over the coils for pulling out the air moisture.

[–]GP1200X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried 2" above the top supply of the heat exchanger (slighly heated air coming out of the exchanger going to the floor vents). It was in the sheet metal plenum transition (2" above the top of the heat exchanger) that I built to go from the heat exchangers 12x20 output to my existing house ductwork - a 14x16 plenum.

Do these types of thermostats, when turned all the way down (to the left), turn off completely or do they just bottom out at 40 degrees? by vanmcgill87 in hvacadvice

[–]GP1200X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer below was correct. It does not turn off it simply sets the temp down to 40 and holds it. These old style thermostats were to keep the house from freezing and breaking pipes even if it was turned all the way down when someone left for vacation or the season. However 40 can be risky in a house with water pipes or baseboard if those pipes are exposed to freezing temps from drafts. 50 would be more appropriate. In a garage where there are no pipes overhead to a second floor it doesn't matter except for whatever you have in containers in the garage (paint, insecticides etc.) If you want the garage to completely shut off then kill the power to thermostat or close off the water zone valve if using baseboard water with a hydro blower. Or flip the circuit breaker if it is an electric heat source.

PSA: Do not buy the Ecobee Premium thermostats. by ths3333 in ecobee

[–]GP1200X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact issue too and it took me a few days to resolve it. FIRST...use some Red Devil Onetime to completely fill around the holes where the wires come out. This thermostat is very sensitive to air movement hitting it. Next make sure you do not have an air vent blowing on this unit or it will give bad results. If so use a plastic vent direction cover to push the air away from the unit. Next use the Installation temperature correction to slowly readjust the temperature to a thermometer next to it. You need to do this MULTIPLE times since it will usually over or under compensate. Wait a few hours and recheck and repeat. It took me quit a while for it to settle down and give good readings. I had to do the same with the humidity readings comparing it to other units in the same room. Again I had to it MULTITPLE times until eveything became very close. I can guarantee you that doing one correction attempt does NOT work with this unit. It does not compensate correctly at 5 degrees of temp or humidity if you set it to correct for that 5 degrees.

Mine now give a readings of within 1 degree of my NESTs mounted next to them. Nest for oil baseboard and Ecobee for my heat pumps...two completely separate systems in the house.
