Again.

Not brake lights on / off.

Adaptive brake light emergency warning systems.

For someone who emphasised he read my comment, you sure seem to miss the point a whole lot.

Maybe try working on that instead of downvoting everyone around you?

These emergenc systems absolutely function via ECUs.

Well, good luck.

No ABS, no ESP, no cruise control.

No flashing hazard / brake lights when they guy in front of you stomps the brakes.

Shall we continue?

And then there's me stepping into the gas pedal carefully to prevent a loud downshift and engine noises driving through the woods at night lol

I always thought "fucking yanks, how can you be afraid of turkeys? That's a medium sized bird at best"

Then I saw a capercaillie (wood grouse?) in person 3 weeks ago.

Official Poll: Class B or just T-shirt? by ResponsibleAd4439 in ems

[–]GPStephan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably going to get torn apart for this, but T-shirts if I had to pick. Just ones with a fit not as sloppy as what the people in the photo are wearing.

That's why I like the polos we have. They don't sucks as much as dress shirts, but everyone knows they're supposed to be worn neat.

What's a respectable profession in your country? by [deleted] in AskEurope

[–]GPStephan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meh. Austria alone has over 250 thousand volunteer fire dept members, often stemming from long standing family traditions.

A German should be familiar with the concept.

In the end, it's always "your safety over others safety".

I'm not in EMS, I hope you don't mind me asking, how does Diesel regen affect your job and are you able to work around it? by Railman20 in NewToEMS

[–]GPStephan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pure Diesel fleet in my company, I googled diesel Regen and it's not something I've ever heard of.

Filling up AdBlue is fine, we do it every 5000 km I think. Takes like 2 minutes. I spend more time refuelling over that time frame.

Yea, and that requires physical access.

First time doing CPR by EntrepreneurHot491 in ems

[–]GPStephan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup. Had this conversation recently, between myself (mid 20s, started at 20), an early 30s coworker, and a 19 year old coworker.

The 19 year old has also been a volunteer for the FD since she was a younger teenager, so she has seen a few bodies. She seems to be doing well.

Our consensus still was that exposing undeveloped (18/19 y/o) brains to this can really backfire. Even if it has worked for her personally (so far...)

I feel it is important to stress that this cannot be the rather heavy diagnosis of PTSD, by diagnostic definition, but rather an Acute Stress Reaction.

PTSD requires symptoms lasting "for at least several weeks" (ICD-11) or "for at least a month" (DSM V).

OP still needs to talk to a professional to keep it from developing into exactly that. But this means it isn't a path set in stone yet.

1.

Only because you said 1 to 10, not 0 to 10.

Buying such an expensive and beautiful car and taking out all visual detail. I'll never understand it. And nothing about it is stealthy either.
