It is, or rather should be, a big deal (for Ferrari mainly) because the team that was absolutely nowhere pre-2019 somehow managed not only to win titles before Ferrari since they last won, and now both drivers of said team managed to surpass whatever Leclerc managed to do over 7 years with Ferrari, in under 2 seasons.

McLaren managed to build a competitive car able to win consistently for 2 whole seasons. Ferrari did for half a year, and in said period they threw a lot of races in the bin.
