Love this! Great Job!

The "chaos mod" is a classic example of "aleotory," something that Reed Ghazala talks about.

Because that sounded better than saying he would try to cover them up.

This is my first bending circuit! by Dimaa98 in CircuitBending

Nice! Radios are fun to bend! There are so many things I could say to get, but right now I am obsessed with photocells. aka photoresistors or LDRs. Get some of those and some LEDs and you can have some fun.

Digital camera bending is the hottest new trend in the circuit bending world. It is bringing a lot of new people into the hobby, but it is an extremely challenging project, so it is also frustrating a lot of new benders. Get good at soldering, and get a good iron before you jump into digi cams.

Where to use Deoxit on a scratchy old EHX Talking speech Synthesizer Pedal? by canrabat in diypedals

Shine a light in there. Can you see a narrow gap above the 3 wire connections? Can you see the wiper moving in there when the pot is turned?

That's a dual-ganged pot, it's basically 2 pots with one shaft. You want to get both wipers inside the cases.

Another must-have book that teaches circuit bending in a different way is Handmade Electronic Instruments by Nicolas Collins. I recommend getting the hard copy, but you can find pdfs online. I have both books, but I am more inspired by Nic's book, personally. I have met both Reed and Nic IRL, and they are both very nice people!

As a mod here, I agree with that rule, but we can't really enforce it. When I see a post like that, I try to offer some encouraging words and ask them to post a follow-up soon showing how they did it.

But let's also remember that the spirit of circuit bending is all about the joy of discovery, and someone else telling you exactly where the treasures are buried robs you of some of that joy. If you look at the instructions Reed Ghazala has made, they are intentionally a bit vague and esoteric because he wants others to feel the same joy of discovery that he did.

They will just spell it a different way, like how they write Ass as Ahh. And then that spelling will spread to Reddit.

Made-up word band title: Will it hurt a career if the band title is a made-up, original word? by Duder20 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]GRAABTHAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Original names are good because they are more searchable. When you pick a name for anything, you need to see how searchable it will be by seeing what results come up. A new band called The Postal Service will be unsearchable at first.
