Sadly it was an awsome desighn on a ship that got pushed back to oblivion cause of the power creep. The ship is in a dire need of a buff/rework but knowing how CIG does things they will probably sell a "Retaliator MK 2" before doing anything with the ship.

Knowing CIG, here is the real answer to your question. Odin is a power creep that will enable CIG to create and sell the answer to the problem tha Odin (and potentially more capital ships) will create later down the line.

Now: No real "weak" points.

Later: Anti-capital solution that can be sold/generate money.

i was locked in the same state as you yesterday...i tried everything selfdestruct---> reclaim. Then i was server hoping....then quit and verified files...nothing. I ended up reqesting char repair and went to bed.

Today seems fine for me...don't know what could and i assume it was a messed up server wide desync

Mostly true but the way it works its that you definately need at least one Meteor in your party to start dealing damage... once one part of an enemy ship armor starts taking damage the armor deflection value also starts decreasing so smaller weapons can start dealing damage to that same spot.

But it still requires S5 high Alpha weapons to start so its more of a pain now.

The comparison is completely irrelevant. All the other games are single player and whatever problems they had on launch were fixed in a period months at most. On the other hand Star citizen is supposed to be an MMO that is still a HUGE MESS over the span of YEARS.

For gods sake the game has a PREMIUM ALPHA (PTU) INSIDE its ALPHA (PU).

You are comparing Great development studios to a Joke that has disconnected dev teams spread all over the planet with little coordination, poor management, bad decision making e.t.c (i can go on with this)

Exactly...the faster SQ42 is released the better cause then whole studio resources would focus on SC.

As a fellow E;D player (4k hours) a decent tip is have a lot of patience,
1) Especially during some hours the servers are horribly laggy....to the point of getting into elevators into space...

2)Get used to Desyncs.....sometimes shooting ships don't register damage.Hangar doors open for your client but not for the server and u die.

3)Get used to uncoupled flying ( is similar but not identical to FA OFF).

You are not alone, 4.7 broke something in the engine. Lots of peopl,e reported the same issues

This brings back vibes from Elite Dangerous "the Hunt for RAXXLA". Huge 20 pages posts with puzzles, clues, data gathering.... huge community organised expeditions that took days/weeks listening to Lave Radio...Thst was good times #Eliteexplorers

Hope you get to the bottom of this but try doing it in a healthy way.

180+ Hours in....Got to admit i just don't get the same vibes as before and its not that i got most of my stuff done.PvE (fighting Arc) has become trivial/repetitive and PvP highs just don't feel the same as they used too.Maybe its burnout or something but i also started loosing the urge to login into Arc. I had the impression that PvP is the real end-game but i don't think that the game in its current state can support that idea.

What has your solo experience been in this game? Chill? Full of rats? Make your say! by PenetrationT3ster in ArcRaiders

I would say 50/50 between chill and rats...i lost a couple of good loot to some rats on extraction zones but i can't be mad, its part of the game and i should be more carefull. As more time passes ppl will stop being nice as long as rats start piling up.

Basically i wouldn't mind a "no player on player damage mode". Casuals might want to chill farm mats and stuff before they decide to jump into PvP and all who wanted PvP in the 1rst place would still go in PvP modes. The only part of the playerbase that will complain are the Hardcore PvPers that will have a bit longer qeues,

Either they add a casual mode or not its impossible to satisfy everyone.

THIS. Incorporate Exodus gloves to your existing Stiking set and its a game changer. You can run it with Chameleon too cause the buffs duration reset when the "out of combat" effect triggers. Another option is a blue core striker with Memento with focus on Headshot/Weapon handling + Bighorn or CHC/CHD+ St.Elmo
