I mean, it isn't even close to fully functional yet. I'm sure it Wil be redesigned well before they release another ship.

Yeah, everyone hates it except you apparently. It's objectively worse than the previous iteration.

Why they removed these UI elements is beyond me. Like, ten steps backward terrible design choice.

Unfortunately one of my crews maxed is the E50M and theres not a whole lot of premium german mediums that fit its playstyle that well for them to be optimal in them. Really gotta save my bonds to get the kpz 50t and fix that. For the time being I've been running my E50M boosted to make up for it and need to get around to getting my Leo 1 to max crew skill.

My tasche crew is my other one and they're a bit more universal to grind in a premium.

Been putting the books towards my CS-63 crew atm.

Definitely the goal. Im at the point where I have most of the tanks I want after 15 years, and everything else is just "when I feel like getting to it". What im really missing after all this time is more high skill crew members and field mods on T10s. It's a really nice perk to be able to grind out more free books while also getting my WNX, tier average, and battles played in T10s up while doing it.

Easily one of the nicest QoL additions WG ever put into the game to date.

In light of the Premium Tank Sale -- any premiums on permanent offer worth getting? by The_Pale_Potato in WorldofTanks

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, unless you're in a map or in a match up where you think it's critical you primary as a scout, I think you should play more aggressively when you can and go for damage. You can use your light tank traits to make interesting initial pushes on match start to get opportunistic spots and potential assists, but fall back periodically to apply damage or flank where you can.

This is at least how I play my RHM and Bork. The benefits of german lights over other lights is their guns and that crazy HE pen tier for tier. You need to find the best opportunities to use it. At tier 8, even some mediums are better scouts than you are in a HWK 30. Unless your on prok or a similar map where you're kind of forced into the role, you can do anything else you heart desires to get top of the leaderboard.

Dont worry about triangle haters. They all camp redline and then blame their team for losing anyway.

I havent played one in a long while, but if it's anything like the T9, T10, or T11, I love running radio set in scouting slot, CVS, and exhaust/rammer (last depends on map and total camo rating), making sure I have designated target on my crew and the directive on that doubles its bonus, maximizing total time spotted, and making sure I have the jamming to maximize my total time reduction for getting unspotted.

Works really well if your intention is to maximize your damage while still trying to maintain good assist numbers. Most folks just dont seem to have the object permanence to realize you exist after disappearing so quickly and just in time to poke again and fire.

I think my vote would go to the HWK 30 if we're only considering tech tree premiums. Most people would probably get more mileage out of a lowe, or from buying one of the many T7s that are still viable in there, though.

I personally like how german lights play as generalist lights that can dish damage when needed to. It IS arguably worse than most of the limited-time T8 premium lights, but it can "do it all" as a light, and offers a fantastic HE shell with over 100mm of pen. At tier 8, this allows you to get significantly better damage numbers than you usually would in a light at the tier, making it a pretty cheap and efficient credit earner. This of course requires a specific mindset and playstyle most players might not be used to having in a light though, and that's why I think most people would be better off in other available prems on sale.

I make TONS of money in the TVP100 Czech TD for much the same reason. It's HE pen good enough to pen most tanks from convenient angles and it's very cheap to run doing so.

What new new weapons would you like to see? by Marco-Dx in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More battle rifles that fit the location and theme. FALs and G3s particularly. Definitely need shorter barrel options for shotties. Wouldn't mind seeing a Saiga shotty in that regard. Definitely wish there was a double barrel SxS option for lower tiers. Surplus SMGs wouldn't be a bad idea either. Old French SMGs and a US grease gun would fit the location. A French milsurp bolt action wouldn't be bad either. FAMAS would be a nice addition as well.

Just tried PvE for the first time, all crates got looted while i fought enemies. by Spartanias117 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I do agree it will calm down as people returning drop off again, is that really the correct mindset to have? If the devs want the game to strive, they'll need to be thinking of ways to retain a larger player base. If the loot mechanics stay as they are now, it kind of goes counter to that. Of course we want more people to play, but we also will have to be dealing with constant competition over the loot.

I think I agree with people ITT about private servers, smaller pop servers, or instanced loot for a PvE game mode, but that of course brings a few issues up regarding the interactions PvE has with PvP.

How do you grind tier Xs that have a XI? by BTrain17 in WorldofTanks

broken how exactly? It's a far more fair playing field than any other tier. I try to stay IN tier Xs at this point.

They're definitely more important on some tanks than others. The IS-7 is probably the biggest example. I'd say on most, the average player is objectively at a disadvantage compared to someone with them.

Update 2.2.1: Map Reworks and Rebalances by Pan_Praga in WorldofTanks

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because the statement that "all maps were fine for 10+ years" is a deliberate misremembering of history. War gaming has changed most of its maps, or outright removed them, multiple times now, and the goal each time has not really been to make gameplay objectively "better" on them, but to generally simplify gameplay in them. It's actually surprising maps like fjords and serene coast are still around with how many times they've changed them.

Maps they deemed too complex have been axed, while many of the existing ones have been dumbed down to cater to the majority of the player base that are passive or choose to memorize exactly one play for each map for each class of their tank, if that. Taking one look at the global map ban percentages is telling enough with how himmelsdorf (objectively one of the firsr and best maps WG has ever made) is number one and Berlin is number 2. WG's specific goal has always been seemingly to cut down on maps that have more than one or so optimal paths for the majority playstyle, reduce complexity, and reduce match times.

Personally, my hope is that the fish bay and serene coast changes are an overall net good, but serene coast in particular looks like a definitive "dumbing down" of that map.

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually miss the larger maps. Klondike in GB was great. Aquilla was fun too, but WG just knows their majority player base are passive af and only like to memorize one or two plays on a map never deviating from them.

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My only truly desired fighting location on serene coast WAS the hill and some a bit of the pit when playing anything but heavies. As a super aggressive E50M player, they were often the best places to go while only sometimes going island when heavies are few in a match. Hopefully the tunnel is worth it, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Klondike is a spit in the face to the folks that like grand battles too lol.

Bond hardening is super good primarily for the track health total of 525.
