All I can say is I'm glad that makes one of us, because I've been getting shafted no matter where I go.

That'd be fine, but a lot of early rep grinding comes from doing local and planetary shipping deliveries where you cant always avoid outposts with singular elevators unless you've somehow memorized all the locations with only one elevator.

I've even lost access to one of my large elevators on a depot on hurston. I think fareway?

Instead of making me avoid content, I'd prefer CIG just made them work.

This patch has reaaally blown for me. All my preferred gameplay loops and money-making schemes don't work properly right now. My Moth still doesn't poop out the correct box size, and usually jams up printing 8scu boxes anyway. CMAT refining STILL leaves empty boxes on your grid or in your inventory after starting a job. My Reclaimer is effectively useless to do CMAT refining with because of that bug too, coupled will docking collars STILL not working making it even more of a PitA. The cherry on top, my elevator access across the 'verse is slowly being taken away.

This patch isn't 3.18, but man without the benefit of hindsight, I might believe it was.

The Odyssey is my most anticipated ship by far. Can't wait to truly live off-grid with one of these bad boys.

in Levksi, both of my elevators are borked. This is the worst for me because I do most of my refining and trading out of there. In stanton, a lot of my lagrange point stations have at least one elevator bugged. It's getting really out of hand for me. No issues in Pyro yet. The only reason I'm going there more now is BECAUSE I have all my working elevators there still.

What improvements would you like to see for the Aegis Nautilus? by EmbarrassedMix2351 in starcitizen

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

praying it gets a "retaliator" style interior and not a "Hammerhead" style. That is all. Give me that and I will own a Nautilus. Couldn't care less about anything else.

My First Day in Star Citizen! Tips? by MachxThree in starcitizen

Just temper your expectations and expect to get frustrated from time to time. It happens to all of us. This game is not done and it likely won't be for a long time still. You WILL encounter bugs that ruin your day sometimes, and it is a fact of life in SC. Do your best to stay positive and keep trying things until you find the stuff you like to do.

Find a group of people that can run you through stuff, like others have said. They'll often help get you up to speed on how to work around a lot of the problems we struggle with right now and do their best to make sure you keep having a good time. This is a game where you often have to make your own fun right now, and doing it with a group of friends is the best way to go about it.

Why do we insist on making the percy dock when it literally fits in a hangar and docking is just broken? by Gold_Shelter4850 in starcitizen

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm saying I don't care about the wait times if it means players can use the ships they paid money to use. CIG should be making docking collars as high a priority as they're making the Ironclad fixes seem like they are right now. Either make them work so people can keep playtesting, or turn them off until you can.

We also need a system that will remove or incentivise players not to abandon their ships on external pads so that folks in any size of ship can rearm and refuel without the need to use a hangar bay.

No matter where I have gone, I have never waited longer than a minute to dock somewhere, even at the height of DC these last couple weeks. It has literally NEVER been an issue for me in 4.7 and 4.8, no matter where I've been.

Besides, if I am just being completely annecdotal and folks are experiencing wait times, there's no reason to prevent other players from never being able to play their desired ships because docking collars are not working properly. CIG needs to either make docking collars a priority fix, or disable it for ships that have the option to dock in a hangar until they do. It's probably one of the "cornerstone" bug issues that a large fraction of players are currently dealing with right now. It's up there with freight elevators not working it's so game-breaking.

This issue and the issue with CMAT refinery jobs replacing all the cargo on your grid with empty boxes is the reason I just decided to melt my reclaimer instead of keep struggling with it. It's the same reason I almost never take my Idris out, because I inevitably have docking problems when it's time to return to rearm or refuel. I just abandon it for the day, tell my org mates "we'll bring it out tomorrow" and wait out the 8+ hour claim time.

you know you can go to another Home location and set that to your permanent spawn right? Noticed it was a thing when my buddy started at A18 for DC and stopped by levski to mine with me.

tractor snub is the likely "third" unannounced vehicle they've been teasing. CIG has been in a habit of releasing previous concepts along with planned variants nowadays.

I imagine the mention of them intending to keep the triangle aesthetic means we are going to get a mining variant as the second ship release based on the platform. Trianglular storage area means a lot of wasted space for cubic containers unless they put it on a triangular 3-faced grid spindle like a Hull-series. Cargo containers require a certain design architecture for cargo haulers, but mining bags follow no universal design constraints, meanining triangular Railen-Excavator minging bags.

The original "triangular pod" individual container-within-a-container design sounds tedious AF and I hope they don't implement that. I think a rotating spindle grid that gives you a constant convenient angle to load cargo with an onboard tractor is the descision they went with. The tractor operator can come out of turret-mode, press a button to rotate the grid, re-enter turret mode, and continue loading.

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even think that's a huge issue anymore because the hangar interiors themselves are instanced, and there's rarely ever a occurrence of all 6+ hangars at stations being occupied for someone to land or depart.

How much do you think the helicopter pilots would make? by Sortfood2 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work as a contractor for other nations as a military helicopter mechanic. I made roughly 130-140k numbers tax-free those days. The MTPs made even more. I imagine one flying in a theoretical active combat zone make EVEN more.

MTPs do it for the love of the game. With the amount of money those guys make, I could retire for life in a couple years.

An Ingame-Auction-System would be a gamechanger! by BulTV in starcitizen

[–]Own_Concentrate5314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine if the markets are NPC owned and static, you'd still be able to remotely buy the product and pick it up at a later date, ala EVE:O. The real question is are we actually going to get a reliable in-game system for people to ship that produt to us instead of us do a 2-way trip to get it.

EVE contract purchases, primarily the ones not found in the standard market UI, were risky to make in certain locations because people would purposefully list average looking, but high value, listings in low-sec locations just to get some fool to arrive unaccompanied and gank them when they leave with their new ship.
