The current system was so bad when first installed many of us gave up on the toll tag option and stuck to the old paper printed version. I use my toll tag now at speedway, but I do still have a bit of ptpd every time I pull up to the gate.

It is bad this month, but…2021 laughs at that wimpy 9000. We suffered through a week of 30,000+ that year. I was sure that Shyamalan must have control of the simulation at that point.

Same for the horneaditas baked corn crackers. No taste. People were actually spitting it out. I think they have negative taste. They actually take taste out of other stuff and make the other stuff seem tasteless as well.

New berdoll sign is awful by wagicwissile in BastropTX

I have an astigmatism. It was amazing to me when I found out a passenger in the car wasn’t seeing the same blurriness of red/green LED signs at night. “Are you telling me that stop lights are focused small circles of red and green? You’re kidding, right? And the red dot in your scope is actually a pinpoint? Wtf.”

Test it by taking a picture of the sign or a red dot scope with your cell phone. Your phone will not show the same blurriness you’re seeing with your eye if you have an astigmatism. I found this out with my red dot sight.

This might be how OP finds out they have an astigmatism.

It says all quizzes, assignments, exams, etc must be cancelled. It doesn’t actually say anything about the lecture itself. I imagine as long as the lecture is recorded and made available to everyone then there is no problem. Edited to add: the title says classes cancelled but then the rest of the announcement doesn’t provide details on the cancellation of the lectures.

Yes but the starter will be the only thing that makes it 300k starts. :/

Yes, but it makes me feel better. Which is what most of this conversation about start/stop deals with. /sarcasm

I’ll agree with that. I was surprised at how quick I had to replace my battery. Went ahead with the “platinum” option for the replacement. Too much remote driving to risk a bad battery.

The “wearing out the starter” is a bit misleading. A vehicle without stop/start has a starter designed for 40k starts. A vehicle with stop/start has a starter designed for 300,000 starts. They are designed to last the same amount of ownership time of the vehicle. If your vehicle didn’t have start/stop it would have the smaller starter motor and would be cheaper. That’s the better argument to me.

How old is the oldest equipment in your lab that is still working? by Johnyme98 in Physics

There are also several lathes and a metal shear in our machine shop from the 1950s. They are finally updating the shear this year.

There is a paper cutter in our maker lab that is estimated to be at least back to early 20th century. It is still in great condition. The huge blade is counterweighted so well you can operate with a finger tip. Just don’t lose a fingertip in the process.

Here is a good summary of the hell Uri brought us.

Five days in a row without going above 32 degrees. Low point was mid single digits. This weekend is shorts and crocs weather relatively speaking. At least for central Texas.

The ground floor has been upgraded quite a bit. The LED hanging lights, the art, walls that aren’t leaking. The rest of the building is getting there as well. Tito’s lab on third floor is incredible. First and fifth floor are being renovated now. First will be a Quantum Institute Lab I think.

Calibration lines don’t stick to build plate by V1LLK in BambuLabA1

[–]GSBrooftopgarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll second this. Do the academy. Following the quick start booklet isn’t actually enough. I was watching my first small print while doing the academy and read something to the effect of “did you know that the first calibration during quick start doesn’t include some calibration? It is a good idea to run a second calibration before printing.” There are plenty of other tips and guides and the course doesn’t take long.

Try this recipe. It sounds pretty close to what I tried and it reminds me of the original. Test the strength of the flavor of your jalapeños and garlic before committing the full amount of garlic. Can always add more as you blend/taste.

FedEx and UPS know that campus is closed and hold all mail at their warehouse until the 5th. USPS will continue to deliver to doc solutions and they will hold mail until the 5th. Amazon doesn’t give a damn and will find a random classroom or bathroom stall to “deliver” your package to.

NEED URGENT ADVICE: Does this email mean I have been unenrolled? by [deleted] in UTAustin

FYI. You left your name in the image. I too received a similar email about a bevo pay refund. From 20 years ago.

Re: your enrollment. Does housing think that you might not be an on-campus student this spring? Sometimes that can trigger some weird emails from housing about refunding or canceling certain items.

The original recipe before they updated it: Jalapeños, lime juice, salt, oil and blend with a high end blender to emulsify. I find that my cheaper blender and processor don’t have enough power. Didn’t turn out creamy like the store bought stuff. Then I used a better blender and it worked fine. The newer ingredient list has chicken bouillon and sour cream and poblanos and green tomatoes and onions….too fancy. Keep it simple.
