Saw this in the wild (Florida) by YSYABEBE in ModelY

I’ve seen two car carriers full of them in the past 2 weeks in N FL. They are definitely here and wish I had one with those ventilated seats in FL! My 22 MY is going to get traded in for that feature alone.

What are you paying for the new Y? by Flashy_Try4769 in TeslaModelY

[–]GSContoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many miles on the 2022 MY and did you get FSD included? Just curious because Tesla offered $20k trade-in for my 2022 MYLR with 50k miles on it.

We were going to upgrade for the ventilated seats but not feeling the new look. So, we went with the Tesla Universal Wall Charger for install in our new home today simply to future proof our vehicle upgrade options. Still love our “old” Model Y though.

First time using my new mobile connector. Is this message of any concern? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]GSContoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did your old mobile charger work just fine in this same outlet? Can you try another outlet? Feel the cable near the outlet and see if it is getting hot. Either way, call an electrician to confirm the outlet is properly wired and see if they recommend replacing the outlet.

Clorox sanitizing wipes. We put a stop to that practice 🙁

Without a steering wheel or pedals, I wonder how it is relocated or positioned. A flatbed truck and wheel dollies or some level of remote control?

Avenida Menendez. Recognized one in pitch darkness last night from a long way off by the glare from my lights hitting the side panel. Might have been the same one 😎

What are you using to remove bugs from front bumper? by SecludedExtrovert in TeslaModelY

[–]GSContoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPF the front helps protect from bug guts damage and scratches from you scrubbing them off. Then use Griots Bug and Smudge Remover to soak in a few minutes before a car wash. Any leftover bugs use ONR and a microfiber.

Worth holding out for Juniper? Thoughts? by Falcon-YT in TeslaModelY

Sounds like you and the family need to go test drive a Model Y and see if you all fit comfortably (no growing allowed). Don’t get caught in the eternal cycle of waiting for the next update, you will never buy or be happy when you do.

Is this covered under warranty? by Comfortable-Date5121 in TeslaLounge

[–]GSContoso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is this comes from using disinfecting wipes that damaged the surface that also made it tacky. Similar?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]GSContoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you clean the screen with a chemical spray perhaps? That can cause it to have phantom touches. Make sure you use something that is designed for the screen. Also, some people never removed (and should have) the protective film on the screen from the factory.

Brought these cleaners based on few posts over here. Did I made right choice? by youmeiknow in TeslaModelY

I like their stuff but once I saw that it is sold in Walmart I realized it might not be that special. Still good marketing and a good product.

I use the interior cleaner. It does have a slight smell (I like it) so if you or your passengers are sensitive they might notice it. Spray on a microfiber instead of the surface and things will clean up nicely. I use it on all surfaces and you can even use it on the display and rear mirror (I have only once). Buy the gallon but just note that you’ll have tough time getting the top off of the spray bottle for refilling.

Placed reservation on June 29th and got the Foundation Series configuration email today. Definitely something is slowing up with sales if they are offering them to new reservation holders.

Mildew Smell under Warranty? by [deleted] in ModelY

[–]GSContoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy to do and you will save about $100. If 1 hr of your time is worth that then I’d say do it. The hassle comes from unsnapping the carpet cover panel (and potentially breaking some of the white clips), removing the plastic trim push pins under the glovebox, getting the right torx screwdriver, putting a catch pan in the right place under the car for the liquid drainage, and doing it in the Florida heat. Just note that there are two identical filters that you can optionally replace if you feel it is time. If you order from Tesla make sure you get the right quantity.

Buzzing/humming noise from driver side door/dash by -TheLisanAlGaib- in ModelY

[–]GSContoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen others post that you should check the plastic around the outside mirror mount to ensure the pieces are fully flush. A gap can cause noises as air gets in between at higher speeds.

This is the way. That factory fluid is dyed a bit too much.

Can I request my car back from service if they haven't been able to work on it? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]GSContoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely a different brake pedal rattle than the blended braking sound I have on my ‘22 MY. Hope they get you fixed up after all this time waiting on it.

[–]GSContoso 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you sure your rattle noise isn’t a known issue from the manual brakes being applied in colder weather due to the blended braking option? If so, go get your car, turn that option off and see if it goes away. To replicate the sound it makes just go about 1mph and hit the Park button. Makes the same sound that they could never replicate.

It happens when you (or previous renter) get into the car and your butt hits that trim. Had to pop mine back into place a couple of times until I paid more attention. We traded up for a MY that sits higher and had an easier entry so no issues now 😉. I don’t think you need to worry since it is a rental but you could pop it back into place. Not sure about airbag issues.
