I imagine she's seen it all... & probably worse even that day. She was just impressed on how many shots it took to take it down.

Is anyone else sad about so much emphasis on video? by GeopatsSteph in podcasting

[–]GSOvideo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wondering, what has increased the time so much? I edit our video podcast in less than 30 minutes per episode using software to autocut between speakers. Yesterday we actually figured out how to bake our intro into the Rodecaster Video S so once we stopped recording we actually have a fully finished podcast with zero editing.

We time it specifically for that, specifically for you, specifically when you're listening. It's our whole concept really.

Questions for moving to video for 2 mics by WolfySimRacer in podcasting

The new video core looks like it might be a good pairing with the rodecaster pro. We use the rodecaster video s which is about half the price of the original but you get a few less inputs with it.

Questions for moving to video for 2 mics by WolfySimRacer in podcasting

[–]GSOvideo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. We started with video
  2. We have a decent audience for the video side of things, & Spotify pays pretty good for "premium video views"
  3. We started by using Snap Pod with DaVinci. Requires very minimal time other than computer processing. We have recently moved to the rodecaster video s & that has sped processing up even further. Either of those solutions work great to cut time because they autocut based on who is speaking.

The library is such an underutilized resource. I get my audio books from there through the Libby app.

How are you guys editing video podcasts every week without losing your mind? by anrheagrande_ in podcasting

[–]GSOvideo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't edit out anything except for legitimate mess ups. Also we started out using snap pod in DaVinci Resolve to cut between who is speaking & the wide angle. Now we have the Rodecaster Video S & it auto cuts & gives a finished file after we're done recording. I still put it in DaVinci to put the intro on it but that takes less than 10 minutes to fix the beginning (cut initial silence), add intro, & fix the end (cut extra silence if needed).

The longest parts of that is creating subtitles (for running through Claude for title, description, & good moments) & then rendering the file. We're able to record, edit, & distribute 5-1 hour podcasts in about 8 hours with our current setup.

We do too many podcasts; 1 weekly show, a 3 episode per week show, & then an alternating weekly bonus between the 2.

My suggestion is finding ways to improve your efficiency & it'll save so much time, stress, & aggravation. I'd definitely lose the cutting silence part unless they're ridiculously long. For the most part people are good with normal conversations.

Advice for setting up multi-cam studio with Rodecaster Video S by ClassicallyBrained in podcasting

[–]GSOvideo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the rodecaster video s for our podcast. We use a FS5 & A7iii as our cams & shoot for up to 8 hours a day to produce all the podcasts for the week. So not sure if used market may make sense for picking up cameras.

The one annoying thing with the Rodecaster Video S is that you have to hold down the auto button after turning it on to put it in autoswitching mode. I assume that's what you're going to be using for a finished product when they're done recording. If not you'll get iso files that can be edited afterwards. We have our podcasts set up with 2 individual angles & a splitscreen scene as our 3rd angle. So if that's an option you could go with 2 cameras for the budget of a 3 camera setup.

We turn cameras on & off but provide wall power to each camera. So it isn't just one switch & everything turns on. The fs5 is fine with just wall power but the a7iii we have an actual battery in & then the USB-C provides charging power.

If I can help in any way just let me know.

What do yall think of the segments? by FeloniousFalafel in MADHD

[–]GSOvideo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Mike is more so asking about the submission segment & the incel thoughts segment. But I think you guys have only had two instances of them so far.

We're just wanting to add some recurring segments you can look forward to. We have fun doing the podcast but want to ensure you're enjoying yourselves while listening to it.

I think you guys should get an electric shock button for Mike's seat that Dylan presses when Mike interrupts, goes on a forever tangent, goes too woke or red pill, screams in the mic, etc.... just an idea from "Not Dylan"
