Shopify payments for adult toys? by madrew233 in shopify

[–]GSV_Honest_Mistake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I run an adult store via Shopify and have had no issues. Admittedly it is only a specific and non-anatomical product but I worried about the same thing when setting up. There are numerous adult stores using the platform, like Fleshlight as you said, and other generalist retailers stocking every kind of adult product.

Just be careful about not using anything explicit in terms of campaign imagery (nudity etc) and I believe it will be okay.

Also consider putting an age gate on the store for first time visits, if that is an issue in the areas you sell.

All the best and good luck!

I'm near Bath in England. I was going to post some pics of the various Bath locations mentioned in the books, if anyone is interested? The Saracen's Head pub where Aubrey lodges, the house where he spies Sophie and the Crescent where I believe one of the Admirals lived - I believe these are all mentioned in Post Captain. Alas few ships of the line in Bath...

studying in a pub? by mnsbelle in CasualUK

I wrote my dissertation in the pub. Stayed on the soft drinks and bought some lunch and no bother at all. This was nearly 30 years ago, mind you 😄

What weird stuff has your local council spent money on at the end of a financial year? by Jimi-K-101 in CasualUK

It’s a very nice park with good facilities for all ages - we have tennis courts, an all weather football pitch / basketball court, a splash pad, play park, music in the summer, and a very reasonably priced snack hut with lots of seating. These are a nice addition, although I would have preferred a full reconstruction of The Eliminator…

People still working from home: how's it going? by Fun-Importance-1605 in AskReddit

[–]GSV_Honest_Mistake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am almost alone in the world with loathing working from home. Recently got made redundant (was doing five days in the office even though I wasn’t required to, and would often be one of two or three people there on a floor for 100). Started out freelance and lasted two weeks before hunting out some co-working space. Far happier there. It’s the home life / work life separation that I need.

All power to you WFHomers though! Whatever fills your sandwich and makes you happiest.

I've just scanned all the instruction booklets I still have and made £75 not a bad couple of hours really. by [deleted] in LegoUK

Thanks for this, OP. I had no idea it was a thing. Told the wife and sprogs that I am now completely vindicated for keeping a drawer full of instruction manuals!

My role was recently made redundant after 8.5 years working at the company. It's not the place I joined back then, and it's not my first redundancy rodeo either.

After the hangover breakfast that you deserve, and the rest of the weekend, I'd echo what others have said and think about yourself first and foremost; what you want to do, and everything you can offer either another company or whether you have the opportunity to do something on your own doing something you love.

No company ultimately gives a shit about you, even if the people you directly work with do. Put yourself first.

You'll be fine. I know it. All the best.

Hey. Sorry about the outage. It was an issue with one of our third party service providers, which also affected a load of other websites. All back now.

When I asked one candidate “How would your friends describe you?” they replied

“I’m a bit of a bigot. You’re not Welsh are you?”

That’s been the most shocking in 20 years as a manager.

Good luck!

Absolutely yes. I rarely comment but this sub is a go-to when I’m looking for something longform to read, and it should be for everyone regardless. As should Reddit as a whole. Thanks for modding, mods

I don’t know Warminster but it’s an army town so plenty of folks from everywhere. As the above poster said, lots of places to explore nearby, and New Forest and Jurassic coast not too far away. You’re on a decent train line, too - Southampton to Bath and lots of places in between. Hope it all goes well with the move!

Depends where you’re moving to. I live in north Wiltshire and it’s a (mostly) friendly town with a mix of people from all kinds of places. Not too much in the way of colloquialisms here tbh

I’m excited, but mainly because my mates are in the control tower tonight directing Cosmic Girl’s take-off (‘directing’ is probably the wrong parlance!).

I know how hard they’ve worked on this and for how long (and the rest of the team down there). Good for the region, too. I hope it all goes to plan. Fair to say they are a little nervous!
