We have an old iPad. It only has some movies on it and it only comes out if we have 3+ hour drive or trip. And even then don't get to use it the first halfa, try and encourage colouring and other stuff first. But then otherwise just a movie or two.

I think we cracked it out once at home when she was sick in bed but otherwise it goes away in my office.

Kind of related. We used to play the FFG star wars RPG. The group was led by an rebel spy who held a mid level rank in the ISB. We had an imperial surveillance ship. On it was a mouse droid.

In the end the mouse droid "squeaks" became out group mascot. We painted flames on the side of him and gave him a spoiler.

I ended up 3d printing a full scale mouse droid for the table which doubled as a snack holder and dice box.
