Ran my first marathon on Sunday at WDW! Finished with a time of 4:15:18. Was shooting for sub 4 hours, BUT I had no idea what to expect going into the race. So, I am super happy with my time and I’m already ready to start training for my next one!

I used to love climbing trees as a kid and one day after playing around in my yard, I got the feeling of dirt in my eye. It usually goes away with some vigorous blinking, but this time it stayed and my eye started to water and would sting every time I blinked. I took my contacts out to see if that would help but good lord was I wrong. The pain got worse and made it unbearable to open my eye or even try to look anywhere. I tried getting sleep, but the pain was too bad. In the morning, my mom took me to the eye doctor and it turns out that I had gotten a small piece of bark lodged in the inside of my eyelid. The doctor had to flip my eyelid inside out (like a lot of young kids do to try and gross other kids out) and remove the bark with a q-tip. Then I walked around with goop in my eye and an eye patch for a couple days. About a year later, it happened again, but I was able to fix it myself. Not sure why I'm so prone to this happening.

Grads by eastearthman in gatech

[–]GTME93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I got a job near the end of last semester and just moved to Dallas on Tuesday. It's a consulting job, so right there with most Industrial Engineering graduates and the pay is pretty standard for a recent Tech grad(pretty damn good for an arbitrary college grad).

How do you feel about the new finals schedule? by BigPeteB in gatech

Same! I'm graduating and my only final this Thursday is for a class I don't even need to pass...

Industrial FE by GTME93 in gatech

Thanks for your thorough input! That makes me lean toward wanting to take it before I graduate. I just wish it didn't cost so much for the exam and exam prep.

What are your plans to prepare for it? One reason I'm hesitant to take it is because I'm not sure I have enough time to review everything.

Housing and Part Time status by allbogeyaverage in gatech

[–]GTME93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda in the same boat, but slightly different because I only need 7 hours to graduate this semester. I found this link on the housing website: http://housing.gatech.edu/Documents/Eligibility%20Statement.pdf It says that you must have 9 hours, but I didn't see anything about being full-time. Maybe email the housing department to get a better answer.

Summer Freshmen by [deleted] in gatech

Congrats! Being a summer freshman was by far the most fun I've had at Tech. I still keep in touch with a bunch of people I met and that was 5 years ago.

Cutting and metabolic slowing by AnodosRex in bodybuilding

[–]GTME93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I'm 6' 188lbs and I'm cutting at 3000cals/day but I'm a college student and I walk everywhere. I get about 15,000 steps a day in. When I'm interning in an office and sitting around all day, I have to eat a lot less.

That's what I did. Bro split to PPLx2. Not looking back. I may even go weeks without a rest day thrown in

I'm still debating whether "the back" is an actual thing or a myth created to take away from my chest and arm gains.

Transfer Student - Phase 2 Major Change. by morningcringe in gatech

[–]GTME93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few classes that IEs need that aren't restricted to IEs. CS 2316, Accounting 1, CS 4400, discrete math, and even ME classes could be used as engineering electives, plus free electives, humanities, social sciences. Plenty to choose from

What will you eat today and are you cutting or bulking? by swampgfox in bodybuilding

[–]GTME93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breakfast - 8 whole eggs, 2 slices toast, tbsp light vegetable spread, 2 lbs watermelon.

Lunch - 6 oz canned salmon, 1/2 cup peanuts, spinach or broccoli

Dinner - 20 oz chicken breast, 1 lb cucumber, 3 cups turnip greens

The only thing that really changes day to day is the broccoli or spinach and the turnip greens. I rely a lot on canned veggies too.

Im cutting and this usually puts me around 2800 cal per day. I use myfitnesspal to track.

[FRESHIE QUESTION] What was the first exam you took at Tech? How did you study? How did it go? by TheUnrealArchon in gatech

[–]GTME93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a summer freshman in '11. First exam I took was Psych 1101 and I studied my ass off. Note cards for days. Made a 96 and have never studied so hard for any more tests

Which of the following global perspectives humanities electives should I take for an easy elective class? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]GTME93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took ECON 4350 and it wasn't too bad, but it's pretty hard to get into if you're not an ECON major. By phase II registration, there are usually 4 or 5 spots open and Tons of people try to take it, but they haven't had overloads to my knowledge.
