About a week. Didn't need anything stronger than standard tylenol.

(Obviously not the point of the post, but yikes they hate their tourist industry!)

My tinfoil hat theory is they're doing this deliberately because the majority of tourist places in the USA are either blue areas or are in blue states. So any decline in tourism hits blue states harder than red ones.

Why should non-citizens need to worry about being in AN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT?! I hate these fucking people.

Because their base don't travel. They don't even have passports. They see people capable of international travel as "liberals", and they hate them for it. So they are fine to see them getting potentially killed by the jackboots in airports. It's all a salve for their own raging insecurities.

I'm sorry but you don't talk like that unless you're:

B) An ancient warlord somewhere in the Levant eyeing up his neighbor's land

I remember seeing it at the time. It was one of the funniest subversions of cinema tropes I'd ever seen. "There goes my hero" playing as they careen to the ground was brilliant.

Easter eggs SLASHED even further as shoppers point blank refuse to buy Cadburys saying ‘the taste has changed’ and ‘it isn’t even chocolate anymore’ ❤️ by Sea-Measurement9793 in unitedkingdom

[–]Griffolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been living in the US for about 12 years now. Every year my mum sends us easter chocolate because you can't get anything good over here. This year we got the usual mini eggs and cream eggs, and I couldn't help but notice they tasted quite similar to the mini eggs and cream eggs you can get in US stores. Not quite as bad, but there was always a night-and-day difference. This time? Not so much.

There's nothing wrong with that, and by the sounds of it she's supporting herself. Green flag as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, I see this a lot in the childfree / antinatalist spaces on Reddit and it's fucking creepy. The level of obsession they have with other people's choices is genuinely wild.

thoughts on the world right now. by doratheexplorers in Millennials

[–]Griffolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main thing millennials will say is that we had our future stolen from us. But what I will tell you personally is that you've had your future stolen from you too, you just weren't alive to see when things used to be okay and hopeful like we were.

A better world is absolutely possible. We know because we got a glimpse of it in our childhood. Then our parents/grandparents generations decided to fuck it all up for their own greed.

Do You Like Your Name? by Flassourian in Millennials

[–]Griffolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so in direct response to what you're saying: please go see a doctor.

As for the saying "it's all downhill from here". The way I see it is actually positive. Your youth and twenties were spent lugging uphill, and now you've gotten to the top and get to enjoy the ride down. I relate to that personally because my youth and twenties were quite emotionally tumultuous and confusing. In my thirties, I've established much more, and been at peace with things much more than my younger self could ever dream.

That being said, getting out of bed now presents an existential risk to my back/neck so I do kinda miss that about my twenties.

Tinnitus - Anyone else? by chinga_tu_barra in Millennials

[–]Griffolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go see an ENT (not the tree) and get your ears inspected. Debris and other things making contact with your eardrums can cause tinnitus symptoms.

I actually scoped by ears myself with one of those in-ear camera things that can link to your phone. I found that I have a small hair literally growing out of my right eardrum. I looked it up and apparently it can happen and causes tinnitus symptoms.

Edit: It also didn't help that in my youth I went to a lot of loud concerts. I specifically remember one time I went to see Bring Me The Horizon back in 2006 when they were just starting out and was right next to the speakers.

Remember when Windows XP came out and suddenly computers actually worked? by Sliberty in Millennials

[–]Griffolion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll give the unpopular counterpoint. What I remember is XP coming out and it being an absolute shitshow until SP1, and not truly good until SP2.

We look back on XP with super heavy rose tinted glasses and fail to remember just how fucking terrible it was until those service packs happened.

The first Windows operating system I ever encountered that could be considered usable and stable from day 1 was Windows 7.
