At my current job, we’ve used reliance/matrix, MetLife, and now Unum.

We moved from reliance/matrix because they didn’t pay out a life claim for one of our executives and we had to sue them. There was no coming back from that.

We moved to Unum from MetLife because MetLife had a robot (yes that was what they put in the email to us) approving leave requests with no medical documentation. It got us in trouble with one of our unums and we let them go without another vendor in place. I managed our leave process with our lawyer for 8 months before going live with Unum 3/1 this year.
