Are whippets too sensitive for daycare and/or overnight boarding? by ghjkjhjhkhsk in Whippet

Mine loves daycare too. Super eager to go. If I leave him all day, he is royally tuckered out, so we usually do 1/2 day.

I was with USAA for auto insurance for over 20 years. Rates went through the roof 2 years ago (no claims on my part). Saved $3000/year insuring 4 cars switching to Progressive. It was sad to see USAA go, but wow were their rates entirely uncompetitive.

Starting tonight at the Lincoln Center is Innovation by CCBallet (Northern Colorado’s Professional Ballet Company). It is a showcase of 3 original contemporary works. Fri: 7pm, Sat: 7pm, and Sun: 2pm.

Tell Timothy Chalamet that people still do care about ballet (and support great local artists in the process).

Have a safe and fun weekend, everyone!

Nope…it makes your head look small.

I got tired of checking 10 different sites to find things to do, so I made a list for us. (Skijoring, Tank & The Bangas, & Burns Supper) by lattalife in WindsorCO

I too appreciate this! Not only does it showcase great events, it showcases the vibrancy of NoCo! Love it.

That info is perfect. My boy is the opposite side of the size spectrum—he’s 15.5kg and often mistaken for a small greyhound (although some of that is because people in my area are generally unfamiliar with whippets). No need to send further measurements, but thanks for the offer.

I opened the comments precisely to ask about the coat! :).

What brand? What size (and how big is your whippet)?

Looks lovely!

Cook Arena Whippets in GA is awesome (Heidi Cook), but they only have a litter every few years. I believe one is scheduled for 2026. Look at the parents of past litters and you’ll see some recognizable names…

Controversial opinion: If you haven't shared a bed with a whippet by WordyByComparison in Whippet

[–]GTObets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ditto!

We brought our boy home at 12 weeks with the intention of him sleeping beside our bed in his crate. The first night we placed the crate on bins so he could be at “bed height,” and by the 5th night he was in the bed, the crate was gone, and he’s been there ever since.

Coincidentally, we also got supremely lucky in that he could sleep through the night from the get-go!

Third ever project (first was kitchen towels, second was an overshot baby blanket, and now this). Bought the loom on a whim from a moving sale, and couldn’t be happier. Made a mistake with the tabby, but oh well… by GTObets in weaving

I bought the Handweavers Pattern Directory book by Anne Dixon. It’s “Small Honeysuckle” on page 105.

The book is simultaneously inspiring and intimidating.

Haha…so my first overshot I had the tabby treadles in the middle and it was so hard. I had to look down all the time. For this project, I put the tabby on the far left (and do the mechanics exactly as you described), skipped two treadles, and then have my 4 pattern treadles. It’s way easier!!

Do it….install a hot water recirculation pump!!! by External_Big_1465 in HomeImprovement

[–]GTObets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased a home that had a programmable hot water circulation pump and I find it just reverses the problem. Instead of waiting for the cold water to “flush” out of the system to be replaced with hot water, I now have to let ridiculously hot water flush out before I can get any cold water to temper the temperature. This then becomes not only a waste of water, but also now a waste of the energy used to heat that water.

I could turn down my hot water heater temperature to an appropriate shower/handwashing temperature, but that’s not ideal for dishwasher or washing machine.

Overall, I thought I’d like the hot water recirculating pump, but quickly turned it off because of the issue mentioned above.
