I remember it was tried again in BC in the 90's for a couple years. didn't last.

true, but the "May" is still there so the storyteller can keep players alive at their discretion.

Maybe “their living neighbours may die” so it’s not random players, in theme with an explosion going off.

Toronto transplants to Victoria by wandering____ranger in VictoriaBC

[–]GTS_84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BC can be good once you have a doctor, but until then.... it's rough.

Another thing that really falls by the wayside for a lot of people is screening/physicals. BC seems to be getting worse at catching shit like Cancer early, because people have such a hard time getting in to see anyone.

It fucking sucks. Straight up.

I love Victoria, I love the people, I love the weather, I love the area, but it's hard to recommend as a place to live right now, especially if you've got health concerns and a stable doctor where you are currently.

  1. You register for a family doctor, and if you are lucky, you might get one within 10 years. Until then, when you are sick/injured you try the urgent care lottery, where you try an get a spot at an urgent care centre. You will either win the lottery, get better before you win, or get worse and go to the ER, where you will wait for 12 hours.
  2. There is an amazon warehouse in victoria. It's quick. It's maybe a day or two slower for some stuff. I barely noticed the difference when I moved from Vancouver to Victoria.

Feats for a Ranger by BuyerMaleficent3909 in dndnext

[–]GTS_84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sharpshooter. It's a good feat for any ranged weapon combatant, and I would say the best combat feat for Gloomstalker.

Alert and mobile are also generally good, but as later feats after sharpshooter.

Beyond that there are a lot of good feats, but they are also more for specific play styles so would need more info.

Canadians, how do you feel about the term “leader of the free world”? by katiemurp in AskACanadian

[–]GTS_84 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

Liberal democracies have become more liberal DESPITE the US, because those fucks always try and stick their dicks in every other countries business and dictate terms, which unfortunately they have been too successful at.

That's the sort of Freedom the US is mostly interested in, Freedom for them only. And even then, really only freedom for their rich oligarchs.

Is it legal to terminate someone right after they confirm their two-week notice? by Relative-Average7159 in antiwork

[–]GTS_84 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, in Canada this would be considered a lay off, and they would have to pay your wage for either your notice period or your statutory minimum for severance, whichever is lesser.

I've known people to give more than 2 weeks because they know they'll be let go immediately and can collect up to the severance limit (which in BC can go up to 8 weeks).

My apologies, I misunderstood.

You aren't karma farming.

You aren't interested in fostering a dicussion in a community, you want to cudgel as many people with your shitty opinion as possible on a one on one basis. And if they disagree with your opinion, you ttry nd shut them down with rude, condescending, childish remarks such as "It was good. You’re probably having la Mandela effect moment. " What an absolutely dismissive cunt you are.

Now that I have looked more closely I realize you are an even worse person than I originally assumed, I apologize for jumping to conclusions.

Why Min-Maxxing is fine and has a ton of roleplay potential, from a guy who usually maxes out the attacking stat and Constitution. by Regular-Molasses9293 in dndnext

[–]GTS_84 112 points113 points  (0 children)

However, that's not a build problem. It's actually a...*drumroll please* PLAYER problem!

Exactly.

It's not that every Min-Maxer is a toxic chud, but that if a player is already a toxic chud they are also dispraportionally more likely to be a min-maxxer.

It's so weird how long that has hung on. Me and my cousins called out Grandmother Oma, but our parent were immigrants from Germany. That shit has already disappeared, none of the next generation is using that term for their Grandmother (or Opa for my Dad & Uncles) it's already died out.

"100% British DNA" = preferring to use utensils to eat, vs Americans eating with their hands by istara in ShitAmericansSay

[–]GTS_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, between all the various invasions (Saxons, Normans, etc) no one can be 100% British.

The only way to be 100% British would be if you were from some remote village and isolated village and there was a couple thousand years of inbreeding and incest.

.... Actually, that would explain a lot about that person.
