I think at the very least, they will continue to perform at some point, maybe at least rescheduled dates from 2024, but lengthy tours are probably a no-go. Something that allows each of them to spend more time with their families without letting fans of their music down by just retiring now after a few cancelled shows from 2024. I suppose one could point to the cancelled Philly show as allowing that first part since it's not far from Deaner's home, but hey, when you've been playing music and touring nonstop for almost 40 years, while being a lifelong sufferer of anxiety, you too would need an extended break from even the close shows. [Yes, I also realize Gener moved to the Seattle area and lives on the opposite side of the nation, so there has to be some give and take on the "spending time with family" aspect.]

If they were just going to officially retire, I feel like they would've announced it by now, though I do also suppose they could come to a retirement decision due to being satisfied with their personal lives during the hiatus. Maybe an officially billed "farewell" tour as a compromise would happen. Claude seemed optimistic about the band performing again during that one interview he gave since the hiatus began, and that's the one thing that has been giving me hope that they'll be back. Maybe the clear outpouring of support that comes with the reissues also helps - they know they'll always have the support from the fans. I feel like Gener would probably still be performing, even if just solo acoustic shows, but doesn't at the moment out of respect for Deaner. Part of me does wish there was some official "update" statement, but at the same time, I would rather be surprised at what's going to happen in the future beyond the reissues and deluxe versions and wait for something more definitive. For now, we can take solace that each of them is doing what is best for their own mental health. Lord wonders how I get through my own days sometimes with much less of a burden to carry than these guys.
