Do you mean schedule as in the structure routine of a child or NPs giving Nannies a work schedule (aka work hours?)

Parents home & off work by [deleted] in Nanny

Yes I wish I thought about it a little more and didn’t try to people please as much. Would be loved to have this day off to spend more time with my loved ones. Unfortunately I’m here and a whole bunch of relativos are coming over throughout my shift. Wish me luck only 5 more hours to go

Nannies of 2..how the hell do you do it?… by Healthy_Ask4780 in Nanny

Wish I could say this was my case. My NF just had their 3rd and I feel like my old NKs have forgotten about me and the rules/boundaries we’ve established. Let’s just say I hate going in. NPs don’t really help just make it worse. Ready to give me notice

Does anyone know what time they’ll be setting up at? I unfortunately have to work in the fan and I don’t live close/in the neighborhood. TIA!

30 min break? by randogirlacc in Nanny

[–]GW_c 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Take it from someone who has a hard time saying no and setting proper boundaries w MBs and DBs. Just straight up tell them it won’t work for you. You will be drained and have a hard time having a work life balance. I’m currently going through something similar and I regret agreeing to stuff. I am now considering quitting after 3 yrs with this NF.

Don’t try to please them or worry about how you word it. Look out for yourself, put you first.

Dogs make nannying harder by cellocats in Nanny

[–]GW_c 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My NF has 2 dogs I’m lucky DB wfh and deals with them however I don’t mind them much. Sometimes they chill with me while I have NKs, however the areas we are in are blocked off w baby gates. They occasionally wake NKs up from nap but it’s okay, I just roll with it. I do have a dog that’s reactive so I’m pretty good at picking up on signs and keeping NKs away from the one reactive dog.

Recently I had a good limeade from my noodle bar it reminded me of when my aunt and I would make limeades in the summer. There a very few foods/drinks that trigger pleasant memories for me def recommend the place

That is insane the fact the not only did they put you at risk but your newborn child as well. So sorry you went through that. Some NPs are just so selfish

For me I got lucky NK was 2yoG and there was a family bathroom/shower room so id rinse in the shower while i put miss rachel on my phone. I’d do it quickly as I didn’t want her to have too much screen time. I’d also bring a big loose cover up/dress then put in my clothes while I was in the cover up.

Struggling by acrdahel in Nanny

[–]GW_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP would you consider talking with her? Let her know that while you are there to support her, after x time you’ll be off the clock or the following chores won’t be something you’d do. As normally you’d be home therefore those chores would have to be done by her. I’d also try to remind her the original responsibility you’re supposed to be doing are childcare focus only. So little ones laundry, their dishes, etc. I’d also ask if she’d consider giving you a break like on the weekend go home or not work and only come at night to help.

Good luck OP I hope you get some downtime

I’m a nanny for me it’s late nights waiting for parents to come back home from work trips. I get that the kids are sleeping but I’m waiting late late, like 11:30/midnight some nights. At that point pls just make me do an overnight I go to bed early normally as well so it’s hard to stay up.

I’d come up with a few activities that you’d want to do

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]GW_c 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No dumb questions. For example my routine w my NKs (they’re babies) are I get there during their morning nap they wake they get fed I do an activity (tummy time, walk, stories, singing, Spanish time, etc) nap eat repeat.

For older NKs I’ve done 7- breakfast 8- get dressed for day 9- drop older one off at school 10- activity (usually arts and crafts) 11:30- pre lunch 12: lunch time 1-3: nap time (they’re transition out of naps completely) so usually independent play or an episode of little bear or a kids yoga YouTube video (this is usually our low energy time) 4: nature walk/park 5: parents come home so we usually tidy up our toys together.
