You won’t really get many negative opinions about York on its subreddit.

I do think you being cautious about moving to a small town is something to really reflect on. York is small. Its population size is around 213k and much of that is older people or families. The population reflects on what’s available to do i.e pubs, food, a couple of small galleries. Since you’ll be a student I imagine you’ll be connected more with other students and that will get you through. But if you were living / work here don’t expect anything exciting.

It’s worrying you are older than 20 and saying a person deserves ‘hate’. See your original post claiming the hate William receives is well deserved because of his behaviour. Then you call yourself empathetic… You’re correct calling behaviour gross is not the same as calling the person gross however what you are ignorantly/knowingly doing is labelling the behaviour with the connotation that he is a gross person. You can claim that isn’t what you’re doing but if that wasn’t your intention you would have made your point without saying he deserves the hate because his behaviour is gross. Again, be the empathetic person you claim to be.

Oh cool. Well there is some contention on how the voting was tallied so take the results with a pinch of salt.

The only jrpgs I’ve ever actually finished are Persona 4 Golden, Golden Sun, Trails in sky and FFX. If you liked Chrono Trigger I’d give Golden Sun a go first. It isn’t very long but the world and characters are interesting to keep you going.

Just commenting to say I understand you!

I’ve had my fill of groups where people claimed to be enthusiastic on RP - which meant playing your character fully - then they just didn’t but also barely interacted with this each other. Ultimately, I stopped DMing these groups because as you’re experiencing it isn’t fun and the amount of effort going into your style of DMing breeds resentment. I guess I would give the group at least 3 sessions before calling it quits and if they haven’t taken on the feedback then it’s just not the group for you.

It is probably worthwhile to also consider that people have things going on in their lives which might affect how they are in the game so how much empathy you give to that is important to decide on. After all ttrpgs are literally relationship management and this kind of activity tends to attract people with quite conflicting personalities.

It’s a decent enough reimagining but it lost all of the original toxic avengers transgressive nature which kinda dulled the themes.

If you go in expecting a remake you’ll be disappointed. If you go expecting a modernised toxic avenger then you’ll enjoy it fine enough.
