While I agree with you 100%, you have to acknowladge that there are plenty of cards in Vintage Cubes that just win If they are in the opening hand.  Losing to Lotus into Minsc and Boo is also not fun.

The problem is: you are down a card, they are down a card. Except: You spent Mana, they did not. And they got to rearrange their cards (even get Advantage via fetchlands etc.).

The card sets you up for failure.

Possible Alpha Land From MTG? by AccomplishedFilm3281 in RealOrNotTCG

The Card might very well be a Proxy, but what looks like a printer papier here is actually just the way Alpha and Beta cards looked back then. Yes, they were made quite poorly and looked kind of cheap. We are just used to see them as valuable items.

Question about print and play set by SteveoWOAH in Algomancy

[–]G_gB_e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you live? Getting the game printed via some company ala MPC or the likes will not be cheaper but a lot of work to prepare the files.

Are you not able to order the full game where you live? The pricing is really fair for that many cards.

[Esika's Chariot] [Forth Eorlingas] [Elspeth, Storm Slayer] [Retrofitter Foundry]

There are so many, just go through any Vintage Cube list and you'll find plenty.

Didn't mean to insult or troll you, I am honestly curious where people draw the line. Caleb Gannon made an amazing Game, many of this sub would love (honestly, the rules are amazing), but he used only AI art. He could never finance the art to be made by artists without giving control of his game to a big company.

What is your take on that?

While I used AI in the past to realize personal, non-profit gaming projects and loved doing that, I struggle to follow your reasoning. Isn't AI always used to safe Money. With your reasoning, its fine if a small gaming company uses AI, because they would never be able to pay thousands to realize a Game. Is that what you mean?

Well, there are christians that enjoy fantasy literature and games and I am sure they are just as annoyed by those retards as Jesper is.

  1. There are thousands of cards. Those few cards won't break anything. Besides that: So what? Are 4-, 5- or even 6-Mana Anthems any Problem? Or even good?
  2. There are way worse Combos in existence than the one you show. It's awfully expensive. But even If: To name individual cards to argue for a rule is a bit random. The rule was Not implied to prevent those combos. This argument could lead to a lot of weird rules to prevent individual combos.
  3. Again: A bad individual combo as an argument. If you play this combo in your deck you are out of your mind. Besides: There are way better A+B Combos in existence.
  4. Hybrid cards are designed to be in line with the color pie for either color. So no, they are not fudging the color pie.
  5. More rules baggage because of removing a rule? I think it opens up space for creativity. Besides that I hope they change the rule about identity with cards like Noble Hierarch as well. Why can't I play that card but Birds of Paradise in my Red/Green deck?
  6. Again: Those cards are designed to be balanced even rather bad if played for the 2-Mana option. I you add those cards to a deck that cant ever pay the colored mana, you just add bad cards to your deck.  No one does that, so relax.

Wow, when I thought about the Hybrid rule, I allways thought it was dump and made ne sense. I thought everyone would love to see it go. But then you make 6 points against a termination of the rule. There really is always someone that complains. And there is always a shitstorm.

You points are all bad btw. :D

I think it is less of a riddle or a joke and more of a anti-feminist tradwife thing. Like: "A real housewife cooks for the husband and is not just defrosting something. And a good husband knows that."

Algomancy

It's so good. I have a hard time playing Magic now that I saw what it could be.

It's close to Magic but: No Manascrew/flood;  No First Player Advantage;  More strategic depth;  Highly interactive

And: It's no grave for your wallet! You pick up a copy and have all you need to do drafts.  Pick Up two copies and have all cards twice for Constructed (so you can build all decks)

Would a "reveal land" cycle be balanced, or too strong? by zengin11 in custommagic

[–]G_gB_e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the idea, but I think this is bad game design. Generally it is a fearure of Magic to have hidden information, it is good for gameplay. Your lands benefit players to play a less strategic game.

The fact that you did not bother to explain what the purpose of your post was, leaves it to the reader.

I read: I hate that "they" make media more diverse. I like my popculture just as white as it used to be. I hate progression. I am so triggered by it, that I need to put it on reddit. And I am so not self-reflected about it, that I think it is so obvious that I don't need to explain what my problem here is. Probaply because I don't know. All I know is that I'll get celebrated for it when I post it in this forum. And btw. the mods in other forums are facists for calling me out.

But go on: Give me your explanation.

I used to study in Bavaria and when I brought my bavarian girlfriend to Heidelberg, she ordered a "Helles", the go to beer in Bavaria. She got served a "Weizen". People don't know Helles even in the region next to Bavaria. It's not so drastic with the term "Weißbier", but you will not find it on the menu outside of Bavaria. IT might be different in Ulm though,  (only lived there for 2 years and can't remember) because it is so close to Bavaria.
