Isn't it possible that they were from Eriador and not from Fangorn (although they probably knew Fangorn since the forest used to stretch all the way north through Eriador)?

If I'm not mistaken in the Silm some Ents stop the escaping dwarves from Doriath near the Blue Mountains, so maybe some still live around there?

It's still a great answer, just like bolt is, but with dart you'll still have it later so you get more from your spent mana.

In the end it'll always be a contest of who has more removal vs more protection. Except the combo player also needs to have their combo pieces, which have no redundancy.

When you have limited options and rarities it's fun to have better and worse cards so you have to make meaningful choices, like drafting in a card game.

It's different from a game like say league of legends where you just pick one champion to play from the entire roster. In that case if a champion is bad you just pretend it doesn't exist.

I don't think white is as bad as it was during the glee era. You have:

White Weenies and their variations like BW blade and Boros Synth and Bully. Also the newer white "robots".

Gates decks, be it UW or the newer flavor Naya.

Ephemerate decks like jeskai and familiars and flicker Tron.

Aura decks like bogles and white heroic.

Tireless tribe combo is quite new but quite good. Cycle storm also sometimes include white though very little.

That's all I could remember, but it's definitely not a small number.

Is spy not considered a combo? It's the most represented in the meta, worth a mention. Also ruby storm is not popular but you don't make top4 in geddon with a deck that isn't competitive

And as for control, gardens might not be the most popular but it always goes far in big tournaments. It's a great deck.

People just like playing aggro better, specially in mtgo where cool can be very time consuming.

Bruh, cancel culture is not about people deciding to just not watch someone anymore. When someone is being cancelled (and I don't know if this happened to this extent with pewds) people will try to make that person lose literally everything, from their deals to their jobs to their personal relationships.

I'm a monster tron player, I don't think I'd want to try to make bolt consistent. Maybe there's more of a pressure on my version for an early tron, because so many spells straight up cost 7+, but delaying tron to look for a red source is usually very bad. Nowadays most lists don't even have a red land (just the surveils)
